Chateau was great. Good historical view on the wiehe family that owns the property and it's heritage.

Recommend maybe at most 2 hours for the visit and tour of the house.

Very nice chateau.. more like colonial house in southern USA. Very nice equipment And presentation of the history. Complete tour for 390rs for adult which means gardens, house And rum degustation. They have very fine rum,I like the vanilla one ;-) bottle cost 660rs which is comparable Price to a big shop.

One of the best places on Mauritius to learn about the colonial history of the island and taste some mauritian rum at the same time. Perfectly restorated chateau of the 1850ties.

Amazing architecture and well preserved antique mansion. Lots of interracti e information so that you get to know about the history of the place. Adjacent to the mansion there is a giand garden with trees o er a hundred years old. There also a giant tortoise area. Very good restaurant to try there as well with souvenir area. Be sure go try the different fruit paste and juice organicly made and planted there.

A really wonderful vestige of old architecture. I would also recommend to do the tasting of the artisanal rhums, jams and fresh juices prepared there!

Nice Chateau. Not much to see though, some old nicely maintained furniture, some old artifacts and letters. The place has one tortoise captivity , one Rum distillery and one nice restaurant.
The restaurant in particular is good with nice Menu, the entry we bought ticket had rum tasting included we had a nice lunch with rum.

There's a garden, the château and a restaurant. The château and garden are not very big but worth a visit. You can have lunch on site at a reasonable price. Shame that the entrance fee is not the same for tourists.

One the most loved memories of my Mauritius trip. The colonial house is just mesmerising and a walk in the garden feels like walking in the Eden itself. There is rum tasting as well and offers very economical options of buying the rum from their store.

    Totally worth a visit!
Nice colonial house, very well preserved (ok, some parts have been rebuilt). The entrance fee includes a rum tasting (two glasses).
I also advice the shop nearby: nice local products made in the mansion (honey, jams, fruits, …)

small but interesting local sugar estate, with attached restaurant. the prix fixe is a good introduction to island mixed-culture cooking with indian and french colonial influences. a pleasant visit, won't take all day but well worth it for lunch.
