Doctor Assistant is redefining the doctor note taking process. We have integrated handwriting recognition, speech to text and swipe technology in the application to enhance the doctor interaction with the tool. The doctor can also attach audio recordings of the consultation, high definition images and videos as well as draw a sketch. This ensures that the doctor focuses on the patient and interacts minimally with the device so as to improve doctor-patient relationship.Doctor Assistant was the first Android application ever launched on Google Play which was coded by two practicing medical doctors who later founded Amakemb Ltd. The success of this application has been phenomenal in Mauritius and regional African countries which readily adopted the EMR for making their practice go paperless. Doctor Assistant has been published in the World Health Organisation (WHO) Compendium of Innovative Health Technologies.
