Not very impressed because a lot of items on their menu was not available. Their filter coffee and cappuccino was NOT on par. There is a lot of flies wich is very annoying. On a positive note they have a stunning view.

It was a great quad biking experience in all. The food was aromatic and mouth watering. However, I did feel that the football ground should have been more accessible.

A great place to be.
For nature lovers. Quality of food was ok. The atmosphere over there is relaxing.

Hiking is a must, helps to discover the beauty of nature and helps your mind to relax.

Lodges are also great. Nice décors and ambiance.

The moment I arrived the security guy gave me a warm welcome and the rest of the staff followed with exceptional service , attentive but not over the top. The surroundings were stunning so peaceful and very relaxing. As it was low season the accommadation side was quiet but they were busy with functions which I was advised of in advance and offers of changing lodge to limit noise but I didn't mind they even went out of their way to make sure my stay wasn't disrupted. The breakfast was lovely and the dinner menu was set which I didn't realise but everything tasted great and it was actually quite nice to have a surprise each night - and I am a fussy eater! I'd hired a car so perfect location to see the whole island. The lodges were simple but lovely,big and clean. If you want to be pampered and have people running around after you then book a hotel but if you want to truly relax and enjoy nature ( a gecko joined me to watch the sunset) then I cannot recommend 7 cascades highly enough. First time to the island as a single traveller and when I return would not consider staying anywhere else.

Food was overpriced, basically cooked from frozen and overall a huge rip off. The restaurant only served set menus which were not of great quality. Very disappointed.

Warning. Be careful with your wallet!!!!. We came across the location quite by chance. It is in a scenic location and quite beautiful, taking one back to nature and off the beaten track that tourists usually take. The cascades "falls" are, we were told, at least a 1 hour hike or more from the Lodge, something that isn't advertised until you actually get to the lodge and ask. One can actually drive right to the lodge, though on our trip there were locals who prevented us from doing so and we walked the 1/2 mile of so from the entrance to the area. The restaurant is clean, the balcony provides a nice view over the forest, The staff were friendly and spoke English well, however, from the moment we sat down in the restaurant, the manager was pushy to an extreme point of being highly annoying. We asked before being seated if we could just have a cold drink without ordering food, and was told yes. We ordered one beer and one soft drink, but received two beer and one soft drink. Thinking this was just a simple mistake, we took them graciously. Then the pressure to eat started and we felt trapped. It was such a high pressure sales tactic, that we felt that if we obliged and ordered something small, we could share it, and then escape. We made our requirements clear, even repeating it to make sure the general manager, Keveen, understood, only to be presented with a massive seafood platter that would have fed at least four people and two "mocktails" that we didn't want, which we were told were free (to be told later on they were not when we questioned the immense bill). We didn't know what to do and were in an isolated location. We decided to take the view that we had been duped and chalked it up to our stupidity, saddled with a bill equivalent to £65 when all we wanted was one beer and one soft drink. The quality of the food was mediocre, the lobster and seafood massively overcooked and we ended up taking most of us with us in a "doggy bag" to give to the stray dogs we saw on our way into this location by car. There didn't seem to be any other guests there either lodging or eating. We love Mauritius and holiday there every couple of years but would never return to this location and warn anyone who plans to visit 7 Cascades Restaurant and Lodges to agree to the price of each and every item before ordering or receiving anything from any staff member, otherwise you are likely to be saddled with a horrendous, unexpected bill. This was the only time during our most recent or past trips that we feel we have been taken advantage of and shown such little respect by anyone on the gorgeous island of Mauritius.
