Zahra Group has been established since 1986 and is run by Joe Zahra, a tradesman who has gained experience in the building and construction industry.
The Employees
The company currently employs fifty-four employees. We pride ourselves on the quality of our tradesmen who are not only employed for their good skills but also for their honesty, pleasant and helpful manner and smart appearance. This requires a full management effort to meet the different demands of the employees with the basic aims of achieving the corporate strategies of the company. The management of the company is in direct contact with the board of directors to ensure full adherence to the strategies being given by the board. Front managers ensure full adherence to the final product together with full customer satisfaction. The administrative staff is led by the financial controller and ensures correct costing of products together with timely reporting to the board on the financial situation of the company. Regular management meetings are conducted to ensure that all strategies being given by the board are met and results are reviewed by the management on a monthly basis.
Excavation
Expertise gained over years is just a part of the professional service offered, and because each site will be different, Zahra Limited with their specialist knowledge will tailor the method of demolition and excavation to suit. Our experience and equipment allow us to engage in all types of excavation, ranging from small hourly projects to large-scale contracts.
Excavation for Building and Industrial Sites,

retaining wall excavation are some of the other specialties of Zahra's excavation equipment operators. The dump trucks will then transport the boulders from the excavation site.

Steel Reinforcement
Steel reinforcement is used in construction to provide extra strength where it is needed, often in roof slaps, walls and lintels. We have our own team of skilled steel fixers that specialise in cut, bend or assemble according to the client requirements. The level to which the reinforcement is assembled may vary according to the client’s requirements, namely the services being offered include: multiple stirrups, stirrup assembly at required spacing and the full reinforcement assembly.
Supply of Ready Mix Concrete
Concrete is a construction material composed of cement, aggregate (generally a coarse aggregate such as gravel, limestone, or granite, plus a fine aggregate such as sand), water, and often with chemical admixtures. When specifying ready-mixed concrete there are a number of factors to take into account to ensure the integrity and suitability of the concrete. These may include the strength, density (light and heavyweight concrete); water/cement ratio, cement content and consistence play a vital role in terms of strength and durability. To meet these requirements we provide Lean mix, Grade C10, C15, C20, C25, C30, C35 and C40 respectively.
Additives
Dependent on your individual requirements we can produce concrete to any specification. Zahra Trading & Properties Limited takes into account your specific needs, we use nationally approved suppliers for products i.e. water proofers, admixes (for increased workability), rapid hardeners, retarders (to slow down the initial setting time), fibres that strengthen concrete to ensure no surface cracking over large areas e.g. yards, house floors.
Concrete Testing
We have our own in-house concrete testing laboratory as part of our quality Control procedures. If the customer wish we will also provide with a sampling, manufacture and cube testing service at an additional cost. All of the above sampling and testing is carried out in accordance with the relevant British Standard methods. A test report is issued to the Customer confirming the results.

Supply of Concrete Blocks
Concrete blocks are made from cast concrete, i.e. Portland cement and aggregate, usually sand and fine gravel for high-density blocks. Concrete blocks may be produced with hollow centres to reduce weight or improve insulation. Zahra Trading & Properties Ltd offers a wide range of block that satisfies the building requirements.

Zahra Trading & Properties Ltd concrete blocks are available in the following range:
6 inch or 7 inch block: The 6 inch or 7 inch concrete Block can be utilized for internal load bearing partition and cavity wall construction.
9 inch single block: The 9 inch single concrete block is mostly used for basements and filled with concrete for heavier load bearing structures.
9 inch double block: The 9 inch double concrete block is ideally used for external load bearing walls and is developed to meet high load requirements.
Delivery
We offer delivery of these products by using our trucks. Our Zahra Concrete Block trucks are all equipped with high –ups. We also deliver on site where needed.
Quality Control
Zahra Trading & Properties Limited continuously monitors the manufacture of concrete blocks to produce blocks that have the required properties. The raw materials are weighed electronically before they are placed in the mixer. The trapped water content in the sand and gravel may be measured with ultrasonic sensors, and the amount of water to be added to the mix is automatically adjusted to compensate. As the blocks emerge from the block machine, they will be checked to assure they are of high quality.
Hire of heavy plant machinery
Zahra Trading & Properties Limited provides a fleet of six different ton cranes, three high-up trucks, tower ladder, excavators, mini excavators, bobcats etc. All our equipment is maintained, serviced and cared for on a periodically basis by professional people. All the vehicles and plant equipment are driven and operated by competent, licensed and certified drivers/operators. Zahra provides a total solution for your groundwork requirements.
Zahra Trading & Properties limited engage a preventive maintenance program and set a schedule for routine inspection and maintenance for its fleet. Basic maintenance usually include lubricating parts, checking for hydraulic/oil level, monitoring battery water levels as well as other fluid levels, and testing brakes. All of our fleet are certified by an engineering test certificate on a yearly basis.
Safety
Workers in the construction industry face a number of health and safety hazards in their work sites everyday. A professional Health and Safety company is engaged by Zahra to do a risk assessment on regularly basis so as to take the necessary precautions to prevent illness/injury to workers and any third parties. While it is impossible to eliminate all risks, Zahra Trading & Properties Limited tries to minimise them as much as possible and appoint a site foreman that will be aware of the risk and to ensure the smooth operation of site work. Then it will also be the legal duty of the employee to obey their foreman.
Safety signs are attached near every site to try to prevent injury and ensure that the employees are aware of the dangers and hazards awaiting them at given points in the workplace. These signs also warn the public to exercise caution as they go, to allow a smoother interaction between dangerous employment environments and the ordinary thoroughfare. In addition, all employees are supplied with all the necessary safety equipment such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, illuminated vest, safety footwear, helmets, protective wearing, rainwear, fire extinguisher etc.
