The Gozitans

Music band with all members hailing from Gozo and eventually given the rubber stamp “The Gozitans’.

The frequent social meetings between the two friends namely Joseph Agius and Ignatius Curmi, ended up in conversations focusing mainly on music. The special friendship and the passion for music triggered the couple to compose and play their original productions.

Inspired by rock bands like Pink Floyd, U2, Scorpions and Deff Leppard, the two friends began to compose and play various type of music. ‘The Gozitans’ band, was founded in the year 2016. Beside the lyrics writing, Agius and Curmi played different type of guitars, keyboards and percussions. The need to increase the number of band members was naturally felt when the group was aiming for better quality productions. Two more members namely Edwin Magro on the bass guitar and Joseph Piscopo on the drums joined the band after 2016.

‘The Gozitans’ launched their first single on December 2016. ‘Thinking about you’ was the rock style music song which left an encouraging number of listners on

the social media. The band is currently working on various records which will be launched in the coming months.
