Description

I believe in the power of the human spirit; an inner strength that has the ability to rise above all difficult realities. We are constantly affected and moulded by the different systems we find ourselves in; family, culture, religion, ideologies, society, friends and the evolution of life itself. At times these systems drive us away from the magnificence of our inner strengths and taint us with various emotions and ideas which lead to actions that cause more harm to our life than goodness. These paths often lead to crisis that may help us wake up to certain realizations and spur us on to search for a deeper meaning in our lives. This search supports us to evolve differently with greater sensitivity to ourselves and those around us. A sense of awe and gratitude towards our own intricate humanity starts to emerge leading one to live a life that is more loving, compassionate, understanding and creative. This inner transformation gives life to a different manner with which one may seek to relate, surmount or live with the various obstacles on our life journey.

Along this journey we are not alone and I hope that the people sharing your life paths are individuals who see your qualities and beauty as a unique individual and support you to evolve and achieve your full potential; that they may provide you with a niche of safety and comfort to rest when you are weary; a space where you may share your hurts without being judged, giving yourself time to heal; a creative space where new seeds of thought and action are planted to move towards creating for oneself and your loved ones a more fulfilling life. A space where one may sense once more the essence where Divinity meets humanity, a source that has been silenced because of all the clutter we have allowed ourselves to be surrounded by.

My understanding of psychotherapy is about providing a similar space. Where one may meet the self as is with the knowledge that they will not be judged. Together with the therapist the individual reflects upon the various realities they are involved in and how they are affected, moving towards a more constructive relationship with what matters.

My journey towards becoming a psychotherapist has been a very special and exciting one. Many aspects of my life contributed towards this path and finally I am professionally involved in a process I thoroughly love.

Academically I spent four years at the University of Malta reading for an Honours Degree in Psychology where I was introduced to various concepts relating to the human mind and behaviour. My thesis was about spiritual growth and transformation through crisis. Life has thought me that crisis, even though at times extremely painful provides us with more insight, strength, understanding and a deeper meaning to our life. After finalizing the degree I spent six years specialising in a form of psychotherapy called Gestalt at the Gestalt Institute in Malta. Over these years I have been exposed to a therapeutic adventure that contributed so much to my life on a personal and professional level.

For the past seven years I have been blessed to support individuals, families, couples and groups seeking support.
