Small place with a nice view and exhibits about the eruption and the actual conditions on the island, is a great stop while doing the guided tour of Montserrat, we did the ferry tour that included a lunch and island tour, our guide was a police officer during the time of the eruption so he had all kinds of info and points of view of the tragedy that ensued during the event Sad but beautiful views

My friend and I visited Plymouth in Aug. 1982 to visit American University of the Caribbean medical school and stayed at an English Lodge on the hillside between the school and Plymouth. We had no idea we were on the side of a volcano. That whole area was wiped out in the eruption. Sad!

There's an interesting film about the volcano eruption. Amazing views looking and the volcano and the surroundings. Exhibition quite small but the pictures are really interesting.

This was an amazing trip. On 18 July 1995, the previously dormant Soufrière Hills volcano, in the southern part of the island, became active. Eruptions destroyed Montserrat's Georgian era capital city of Plymouth. Between 1995 and 2000, two-thirds of the island's population was forced to flee, primarily to the United Kingdom, leaving fewer than 1,200 people on the island as of 1997. The volcanic activity continues, mostly affecting the vicinity of Plymouth, including its docking facilities, and the eastern side of the island around the former W. H. Bramble Airport, the remnants of which were buried by flows from volcanic activity on 11 February 2010. We went into the Excliusion Zone to view impressive view of the destruction of Plymouth
