Our Lady of Carmel Church is found in Taipa Village, perched upon elevated ground which overlooks the Taipa Houses museum grounds and lake. Buit in the late 19th century, this church is of a similar appearance to the six church included in the Macau World Heritage area on the Macau Peninsula.

The exterior of Our Lady of Carmel is attractive. You find a stacked neo-classical facade, with centred third-storey tower. The building is painted in the pastel yellow colour, typical of the Portuguese colonial churches throughout Macau. The church is situated in front of a nice nice tiled pavement which helps make for nice photographs for visitors.

Unfortunately, it is rare to find the church open so most likely you will only be able to see the outside of Our Lady of Carmel church. When the church is open, it is for prayer only, no tour visitations. They also have strict entrance requirements. For example, no skirts nor slippers can be worn inside.

Note: There is a small garden behind the building opposite the church. This can be a nice place to visit during cooler months of the year when flower beds are planted and in bloom.

Note: English mass is held at Lady of Carmel Church on Saturdays (6.30pm) and Sunday (10am).

自官也街到龍環葡韻住宅博物館會經過嘉模聖母堂，整個建築很漂亮，旁邊的牆壁配合街道很有韻味，很適合拍照，值得參觀。
