I am a medical profession (MB ChB) and I have strong reservation about the ethics of practice at this hospital. Two of my relatives were admitted for different reasons a few years ago (end stage liver cancer and high blood pressure). However I noted that both of them were administrated a drug called Piracetam intravenously. This is a so-called nootropic which was thought to enhance brain function - there is very little evidence that it has any effect at all. In fact this drug is not approved by FDA as a medication. Regardless of drug efficacy, in both scenarios there was absolutely no indication to prescribe this medication. I confronted the consultant in charge and the medication was discontinued immediately. This hospital was essentially administrating unnecessary medications for financial benefits. I have no doubt they do treat patients and some staff do a great job, but this example shows a dark side of this for-profit organisation.

我反賭場夜更，周身覺得好累，鼻子又塞，眼睛又好多眼水，一收工就去急診應診，真係好頭昏，看了醫生並想休息一晚，因身體實在感到很不舒服，怕上班沒精神，在工作上面出錯（因本人工作同錢銀有關，所以不容有失）醫生說我只是普通鼻塞，只需瞓吃藥一覺就無事，那我又問瞓醒之後都係覺得唔舒服呢？她說叫我可以再去去門診看，但我問晚間無門診嗎？她又說再來急診看，但我問她保險公司不是每日只可一張保單嗎？她就說那是我自己的事了。我覺得呢個所謂的醫生完全沒有醫德，完全沒有了解病人的病情就下決定，之後就不關她事那樣。我在鏡湖醫院真是第一次遇到醫德咁惡劣的醫生，真係令我好生氣，真係怕其他病人同我遇到呢位女醫生，得到同樣遭遇，而在工作上出錯時那就慘了，我相信那位無醫德的女醫生又會說那是病人自己的事了。

鏡湖醫院是澳門的三家醫院之一，也是現時澳門歷史最悠久的醫院。創於1871年，屬廟醫形式。

Second time in kiang wu..the staffs nurse, cashier & doctors very rude..I really didn't like the way they treat their patients..I wait 3 hours to meet the doctor & all the hospital people I approached very rudei won't recommend this hospital .
