Our Lady of Penha Church is a modest church and has a rather simple interior and exterior, making it a lower priority visit for those interested in seeing more attractive churches in Macau or those which are included in the Macau World Heritage collection.

However, visits to the church can be enjoyable as it is perched upon a hill, providing impressive views to the south and northwest from the location of the Our Lady of Penha Church.

Just below the church is a public park area with many benches as well. This makes a nice place to visit and relax for those looking to escape the more crowded areas of Macau like those more commonly visited around Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul. Here you find peace, quite and when sky conditions are favourable, some lovely panorama views of the south, facing Macau Tower towards Cotai Island.

On the other side of the church, there is another nice viewpoint looking over the western area of the Macau Peninsula and over into China. There is a public bathroom and fast wifi as well.

I Always Like To Go Walk In Here Even It's In The Top Of The Hill And Need For A Long Walk, Lucky For Those Who Have There Wheels, The Chapel Is Near A School For College and It Was Quiet And Pleasant To Pray And Unwind, The View Was Really Scenic and Panoramic, A Breathtaking Landscape, Perfect For Wedding Photoshoots. You Can See The Sai Van Lake, The Macao Tower and the rest.

I know it is not famous, and few tourists would visit here. However, this chapel is one of my favourite places in Macau. Penha Hill is full of mansions, and it also offers great views. As well, it just needs about 20 minutes to get there. I recommend this chapel to all visitors to Macau.

Constructed in 1622 by Augustinians and then in 1834 when they were expelled. Church was reconstructed in 1837 and then rebuilt in 1935. In the old days, the chapel served as a pilgrimage site for Catholic sailors who embarked for a dangerous voyage. In front of the chapel stands a statue of Our Lady Lourdes and at the steps of the hillside staircase exists the picturesque grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. (Provide protection to seamen and fishermen)

Penha Church, is a small church pray to the patron saint of seafarers. There is a marble sculpture of the Madonna. Overlooking the half island of Macau, beautiful environment.
Bishop hill next to the Chapel, built in 1622 in the Fort, Palace of simple, trails weave, used for mass prayers in Portuguese soldiers. Around 1892, demolished the old Castle and to gradually extend the Chapel, rebuilt in 1835 to become today the grand scale. Church building Tower Gatehouse as the mainstay, triangle standing on the roof of the Virgin Mary statue, right as the Bell Tower of the Church, belfry towering, very solemn.

If you're religious then you must understand the sense of peace you feel when you enter the chapel. And if you're not, the view outside the chapel is quite eye catching, especially for the selfie fans

A Catholic church for the Bishop and now being run by the Trappist nuns. Beautiful view to the south, west and the Guia so we can enjoy the sunset there or the A-Ma Temple.
