A Petisqueira is located in Taipa Village and is one of Macau's very best traditional Portuguese restaurants. This restaurant is open from 12.30-2.30 (lunch) and 6.30-10.30pm (dinner) and is regularly full up, particularly on weekends so call ahead for reservations if you know you want to dine here.

The dining area is decorated in traditional Portuguese manner, service is friendly, helpful and generally competent when it comes to discussing dishes and describing how meals are prepared here. Menu is the expected range of Portuguese cuisine, very similar to what you would find at a restaurant in Lisbon.

During our last lunch here, we had chorizo asado for starter. This was about as good as you are going to find in Macau. The sausage was roasted well, succulent and quite flavourful. It was served with slices of pickle, carrot and onion (rating 4.5 of 5).

We had an order of sardines. Grilled well and served with boiled potato and salad, this one really makes you feel like you're back in Portugal (rating 4 of 5).

Main serving of wild boar loin was delicious. Seasoned and grilled perfectly, this was another much enjoyed meat order (rating 4.25 of 5). Appropriately served with fries, I would have actually enjoyed more of their lovely boiled potatoes. Sadly, this wasn't a choice. Regardless, this is a great dish at A Petisqueira. A creamy and tasty serradura finished off our lunch.

In the end, our meal was great all the way around. We left with full bellies and big smiles, eager to return for another meal soon. At this time, A Petisqueira is an easily amongst our very best Portuguese restaurants and is an easy recommendation to make for travellers researching meal options in Macau.

Didn't visit with high expectations but most dishes we ordered delighted me. Love the squid, prawn, grilled chicken and octopus salad. The Portuguese fried rice and grilled fish are however, just very normal with no surprises. Friendly staff with great service!

Very delicious portuguese food, especially the clams, roast pork, and cabbage with garlic. Service is great. Very popular for dinner so reservation is recommended.

Right in the heart of the "old/Portuguese town", is a small marvellous restaurant serving Portuguese specialities!! Its difference with the larger, more "elaborate/elegant" restaurants in the modern casino hotels is dramatic. The menu is varied with many seafood dishes-- but there are also none seafood dishes such as chicken. The "homey ambience" is very appealing and it enhances the flavours of the food! It is also child friendly with high chairs for toddlers.
A visit to thsi restaurant will become a very fond memory!!!

We checked out a few Portuguese restaurants, after approaching them we left. After reading the reviews of 'A Petisqueira' we gave it a shot and are so glad we did. The service was friendly and helpful without being fake or over the top. The waitress was even nice enough to say the paella would be enough for the both of us (but we wanted to try two dishes). The servings were generous and tasted just like what we had in Portugal.
Can recommend the seafood paella, bacalhau a braz, croquettes, green wine and each of the ports.

This place had great Portuguese dishes and we enjoyed the meal very much. Can pay in credit card, not expensive, good hospitality, probably better to have reservations. Will definitely visit here again when I’m in town!

Authentic Portuguese at its best, tucked in back alley of Taipa offers fantastic and fresh Portuguese cuisine. Wine list are limited but offer great value wines.

Great Portuguese restaurant in Taipa. The Paella here was absolutely delicious, loaded with seafood and flavourful. Easily one of the best Paella's I've had (including what I've tried in Spain and Portugal). The Spicy Prawns were also a hit! If you opt for the paella, note that one dish can be shared among two. The service here was great too. Overall one of the better dining experiences!

Food is great. Servers are nice. They have a variety of red meats and sea food. I wasn't very crazy about the steak but the clams were very good and the boar loin was interesting and tasty (tastes kind of like pork chop).

Great value great taste!

Spent around $250 patacas per person including drinks, wine and dessert. Every dish was tasty, and the service was friendly and efficient.

Decoration-wise felt authentic.

Be sure to reserve 1 week ahead.
