It is an up and coming place. The people are friendly even if you don't speak Mongolian. The bread was good in one of the stores. There is a place to buy a bus card. Run down compared to the city centre but I like the feel of it.

Since the Mining Boom is over, more than half the shops are shut. The buildings themselves, especially the inside was built by people who have no idea about construction. The windows are too small, the floorboard is fitted so badly you can see the insulation sticking out everywhere and the socket layout beggers believe. Who thought that no sockets in the bathroom is a good idea? The city was planned from scratch, yet there is not enough parking, the one way street layout is making it really difficult and it all feels build by people with no expertise in construction. The clean air and young family atmosphere make up for all these severe flaws though. If you buy or rent here, negotiate!
