I was very impressed at the efficiency of the immigration office. It was a little difficult to tell where we needed to go and when, where to pay vs where we pick up our paperwork vs where to turn it in. But everything ran very smoothly once we figured it all out and our visas with a 30 day extension were returned that day. Very grateful!

Competent and friendly staff. That's all you need. Be ready to have a photo with you as well. Just bring ten photos minimum if you plan on doing something here other than just travel. The younger staff speaks English well.

If you enter as a tourist with a stay of up to 30 days, you can extend that for around 110,000 MNT for another 30 days maximum, but only if you haven't had an extension in the past six months. Copies can be done at the reception desk where it says Канон which stands for Canon, the manufacturer of printers. On the back of the copy, you'll have to give a reason why you want your stay extended. A bank is in there and all fees can be paid with CC as well. You can get to the immigration office by bus ч:7 or ч:9 from the city, the stop near the corporate hotel, KFC, Monnis tower and Mongol TV tower.

HOW TO EXTEND TURISTICAL VISA
Turistical visa can be extended just once for maximum other 30 days. You can arrive at the immigration office by bus ч:9 from citycenter.
You pay 3700 tugrik for each day you want to add. You fill a form (1000Tug), 1 pictures (document format), copy of passport (you can get it there for 600tug). You pay the visa in a bank in the same building.
