Best place for veggies. And the place is very peaceful. Right next to the restaurant there is a yoga center and accessory seller. You can buy some energy bracelets to protect yourself ":P

Luna Blanca made me so happy! The kimchi stew was very spicy, full of nourishing tofu and mushrooms. The atmosphere felt sweet and homey. Service was very good. I wouldn't mind if I ate every meal in UB at this restaurant.

Great Mongolian classics in vegan form. The dumpling soup was a highlight of clean subtle soup with creamy mashed peanut dumplings was superb. The Mongolian plate for main was decent, but not mind blowing. Better than loving hut but vegans should check out bosque verde, which edges it for mine.

Absolutely incredible vegan cuisine. Great options. I especially liked the burger and the kimchi curry. Very good value too. Have never spent more than 15$ for big meals for two with drinks and desert. Great way to try the local specialty in a vegan way! Can't recommend enough.

This restaurant is on the same street as Loving Hut, and across from the Zanabazar Fine Arts Museum. It's located inside a meditation center with a large stuppah outside, so some people walk past it when looking for it. I had the Kimchi soup with rice, and it was a new experience. I recommend it, if you're looking for something mildly spicy and different. The staff was really nice and helpful, also a lot of foreigners come to this place. It doesn't have wifi.

A breath of fresh air. Cozy environment, staff speaks great english and are extremely kind. And food is tasty, with good serving size and great price, varying from 7 to 13 thousand a meal. Perfect!

For a guy like me eating meat breakfast, lunch and dinner, I have to say the miso soup was fantastic and the main course was delicious too. However, I was hungry within 90 minutes after eating lunch. A restaurant for me, is where you go to pay to get served and pay for meals, shouldn't make me hungry again that fast. Try it out though - it really tastes different. Maybe it's your thing. It's not mine.

Before visiting Luna Blanca, remember one thing - you are in Mongolia. A country where the traditional herding lifestyle means the diet centres on meat and dairy. Understandable. When it's -35 and you're working outside, a fresh avocado salad is just not going to provide the required amount of energy to keep you warm.

However, you will be surprised and delighted at Luna Blanca. From the simple cafe style to the delicious food on offer. And they do a great job at offering as much local produce as is possible.

You do not go for Michelin starred food. You go for simple tasty meals. You do not go for 'fine' restaurant dining - just for the simplicity and unpretentiousness.

This is a great option for those who are vegan, vegetarian or who have food intolerances. Or, for those in UB that just want an alternative option.

Highly recommended (and I live and work in UB).

The restaurant location changed roughly a year ago (maybe a little longer now) and not all guidebooks have the new location. Also, some local taxi drivers still remember the old location. Luna Blanca is now located on Tourist Street at the FPMT Buddhist Centre (very close to the Fine Arts Museum).
