The terminal 2 of the airport, which is mostly clean at the arrival halls, but lack of service and shops. Grab Taxi is now can be used also. The international departure halls or terminal 1 is the new modern one. It is very clean and much larger with variety of shops and service are provided at the lounge, way better than the old one. You can get drinks or foods from modern shops or buying souvenir or stuff from famous stores around the waiting lounge. Some parts are under construction. The immigration department will check you very very carefully, so be ready for that.
Ok airport, free wifi, a cab to downtown was 12USD-15USD. If you need to go in between terminals you need to walk outside the airport, for a couple of blocks, there isn't a real sidewalk. You must go through security before entering the airport, so that adds extra time.
Decent size airport. Seem modern and clean. Not very busy. The custom is polite (well they didn't say a word) but extremely slow. Our flight was the only one, and it took forever to go through custom. Most of the shops are either closed or deserted.
This is second time in Yangon, the airport look new and has standard as another international airport. For money exchange at the airport is safe for tourist(inside of airport). After immigration, you'll found with taxi, bus and rental car to town. BTW, Myanmar require local guide for your trip(safe for almost tourist, if you're come in first time). The airport look a few small but there are under construction new buildings. Yangon international airport is better than you think.
Its a so so airport. You can buy sim card, exchange money and take taxi, grab here. Much better than Jakarta's airport. Staff and custom service are nice.
Huge and modern airport but not particularly busy so arrival and departure procedures are pretty speedy. No departure tax imposed on tourists (probably already added to airfares). They offer 30 minutes of complimentary Wi-Fi for each device and data packages for those who need more time online. There are far too many duty-free shops and restaurants it sometimes feels like there are more people working here than passengers.
It's better than I expected! New terminal looking modern and clean. The immigration queue for foreigners can be long if you are not the very first ones to get off the plane.
Nice airport. Wifi available for 10 minutes only. Many shop lots not occupied. Highest floor empty. There are more than one Coffee Bean in the airport. Food stalls sell in US$.
When we were there few people and process was relatively quick.
Overall nice experience.
Once regarded best in Southeast Asia serving the entire region superseded by super hubs like Changi and Suvarnabhumi. Now It is not at all crowded .. with Terminal 2 passenger handling is better
Honestly this airport was so much better than what I was expecting. Newly built, quick service. Much better than many other airports in USA/Europe/Middle East or Asia. Far exceeded any of my expectations
An OK airport. It is quite clean. Not much retail shops in terminal 2 (old terminal) but maybe condition is better in terminal 1 which is newly opened few months back according to the taxi driver. There's a mural in terminal 2 departure which is really artistic and it depicts local culture, temples culture etc blackout happened when I was waiting for my flights albeit a short one.
The airport is wonderful and very new looking there seems to be more employees than travelers. Arriving through immigration with an e-visa was hassle free and within 15 minutes of walking off the plane I was out the door, no lines or wait things are fast. Departing was a similar experience fast the airport was also empty. The only drawback is things are outrageously priced compared to the real Myanmar.
loved visiting Myanmar, but i didn't like that they took some of my photography equipment and drone by saying that it wasnt allowed in the country by law.. In respect did not complain, but then when I was visiting their local stores they were selling similar equipments including the latest P4Pro!
The new international terminal is much improved now compared to before Immigration lines are quick and efficient, and everything is new and clean.
Clean and bigI love that I can find lots of place to charge up my phone(but you need the Myanmar adapter) 😅
The only airport in Yangon where both domestic and international flights are landing. New terminal is ready to run the operation while one more new terminal is under the construction. Beware of the traffic jam and leave ample time (minimum 1 hour) to go to the airport if you are travelling in the day time.
Terminal 1 is much nicer than the old terminal, but you do have to do a lot of walking. Nice and quiet though. However full of mosquitoes at night. Very annoying.
