Location is good. Food is great, service good. Foreigner's attraction. A little expensive.

Can't really afford to eat unless you're middle class and upwardly mobile. Prices are higher than 4 years ago but so is the tax and salaries the place needs to pay. The food IS delicious, but a little pricy. Don't be shocked to get a $100 bill for a meal for 2. Great happy hour actually.

We have been expats in Asia for a few years and so we always look out for those places that are aimed at the western tastes. The union bar was our first choice western place and we are very glad we visited.

Very good food and service here.

We had a good sample of the of different dishes.

    The Isan Sausages are spectacular..

The Shan cauliflower curry is amazing.

My daughter had the margarita pizza and was very happy with that.

My son had the sausage and mash. Really good chorizo style sausages.

We drank the local beer and had some fruit cocktails.

The kids really enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding and the apple pie.

    I highly recommend eating here.

Used to be one of my favorite places to go for a gin based cocktails. Not anymore though. Quite empty lately but the pizza is still very good. I'd recommend to give it a try if you're around.

Union could be in any city anywhere in the world, and that's both its downfall and its major saving grace. There's nothing particularly "special" or local about Union, so if that's what you're looking for go elsewhere. But if you're looking for a comfortable spot with a cool vibe and reliably tasty food, good cocktails, and a great soundtrack, this is it. The BBQ is even surprisingly good for a country that otherwise struggles with slow-cooked meat! Highly recommended for a chill night with friends or those days where you've just enough of Yangon and want to get away for a bit.

(+) Very good drinks. Friendly bartenders.
(-) No smoking-free area. Service can be more proactive (but understandable in local context).

Truly solid cocktails that can stand up against craft tipples in cities like Singapore and Melbourne – perhaps it's because 28 Hong Kong Street from Singapore consulted for them (according to the site) – but credit goes to the bartenders for delivering balance and finesse. (Pity about the patchy service though. They're all friendly enough when you interact with them, but on their own, they wouldn't take the initiative to check if you'd like another drink, or to follow up a query with a suggestion.)

Wow, amazing restaurant. Top for taste, taste in food, taste in beverages, taste in decor, taste in music, all delivered by attentive, polite and efficient staff. Catering western cuisine, but doing it brilliantly, the Union Burger, is exceptional, not just by Myanmar standards or Asian standards, this is a world class burger, it tastes great. This place has put a very big smile on my face for the rest of the day. Note to owner, don't change a thing! This is a large spacious redtaurant tastefully decorated, two story frontage floods in natural light in the afternoon making it a very pleasant spot, afternoon or evening. Union is easy to find, just down the street from the famous Strand Hotel facing the harbour.

On our last stay in Rangoon Sue and I visited the Union Bar on more than one occasion. Fantastic atmosphere, comfortable and stylish surroundings, food we had was good and snacks were great. Lovely French champagne at reasonable prices. But best of all great staff, even though they were very busy, managed to make time to chat and make friends. Will definitely visit again on our next trip to Burma.
