An uphill challenge from border crossing. You'll have to remove your shoes before you can enter the place. There are vendors just right outside the area where you can buy coconut and other Myanmar gift items.

There's a difference between a Pagoda (a tiered tower with multiple eaves ) and a Buddhist temple, a structure designed to symbolize 5 elements: Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and Wisdom. Meanwhile enjoy your trip back into the 6th and 10th centuries AD exploring Shwedagon Pagoda, an easy walk from the border and make it a point to get in without paying the silly fee.

Great views of all of Tachilek. Several big golden Bhuddas. The ladies will try to sell you postcards and old paper money at the end of your visit, saying it's a donation for the temple, which I don't believe. A 15-minute walk from the border crossing.
