A 115 year old teak temple, which has a unique oval window and there is a place nearby which keep plenty of small Buddha images in the wall. The mural painting on the wall also nice to appreciate. If you come to the right time, you will meet the local or a hill tribe, come to offering food or make a merit. Don't miss to say hi with them and take a photo.
Used to live in Yawnghwe (Nyaungshwe) town for 2 years and each time I travelled passing this temple, of course bering on the side of Nyaungshwe-Taunggyi Road, it always attracted me to amaze at it, even for a quick one; it's really amazing for the eyes, but haven't had a chance yet to drop in for a proper visit.
Very different from all the other monasteries and temples you see in Myanmar. This is built on stilts and made of wood. Monks are studying inside and you can sit down and listen or watch the tiny playful kittens.
Small temple with interesting oval shape windows good for photo taking.
It has oval windows which I guess makes it a tourist site. Do yourself a favor, and only give it a passing glance from your taxi as it takes you to/from town.
A long time ago, I made a donation to this temple to donate a statue to their collection. A few months later, I received an email from a friend visiting the area who saw the statue. Thank you to the monks for being honest and for actually purchasing the statue.
Take a seat on the ground, feel the atmosphere of monastery as long as you can. It's worthy to spend several hours here.
Very serene and interesting. If you're lucky you might the only visitor which I was lucky enough to be. Don't expect flashy monuments but it's definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere.
We were very disappointed by this temple especially when you go there after reading the great reviews on internet. The temple has no interest at all, is very dirty and it is absolutely not worth going there. But we went there by bicycles and the landscapes along the roads are really really beautiful. Worse temple in all Asia ever!
My most favourite is the pagoda then the oval windowed temple. A must visit Shwe Yan Pyay Pagoda with red painted wall with international and muticultural mood in classic Shan coloured glasses decoration. An oval-windowed wooden temple is unique, the serenity inside is worth to visit.
值得騎腳踏車過來看看,有很多可愛的小和尚在裡面讀書。
This temple is different from others and definitely worth a visit. The famous walls with Buddha figurines can be found in the temple on the right.
Peaceful. Best time to visit is in the morning.
