A must visit list

One of a kind a group of Buddhist pagodas in the village of Indein, near Yeama and Inlay Lake in Shan State.

The pagodas were commissioned during the reign of King Narapati Sithu.

20 minutes walk up the hill from the entrance st the bridge (covered corridor with hundreds of pillars) leads you to a stunning place of 1000+ pagodas, bricks made, many shining gold on the top of the hill. Definitely unique and worth visiting.

It's a very unusual place with lots of stupas with bells on the top that singing with the wind.

We came to see the Pagoda on a less busy day when the rotating market was elsewhere. That was actually a good thing, because it can get quite busy here otherwise. The area around the Pagoda is practically littered with old stupas, it was a pleasure exploring it!

When you finish visiting this stuppas go through to the other side entrance you will see a golden stuppa on a small hill just in front of this entrance. Take the right hand road and go up (7 min) you will have a nice view on the stuppas and the mountains don t miss that

If you don't come here on your day boat trip around Inle Lake, you are missing out on arguably its best area. A "mini Bagan" with stupas galore, the environs around the main pagoda are picturesque and can be calm and soothing - assuming you arrive before the other tourists.

It's nice but tourists are a pain and they are all coming by boat, walking to the pagoda through the covered path along all the stalls.. very crowded and loud. The location is suggestive though. The view is just ok. The local kids have all the fun bathing in the river while tourists get bombarded with buy buy..

Also known as Shwe Inn Tain or Shwe Inn Thein. A hectic boat ride from Inle Lake, then you approach the Pagoda along an uphill covered walkway, which is home to hundreds of craft stalls. All around there are probably thousands of ancient stupas here, many of them crumbling away but fascinating to look at and very photogenic.

Beautiful spot, definitely a must go to if you are at Inle Lake. The site is free of charge, but you have to pay 500 kyat for each camera. Although nobody verified or checked it at the pagoda itself. Halfway of the corridor to the left there is a small intermediate exit to the pagodas. Just take this exit and walk through the pagoda site further uphill. Much much better than taking the full corridor to the end. Return boat trip from Nyaung Shwe costs between 15.000 and 20.000 kyat (per longboat), depending on your negotiation skills.

A very unique cluster of pagodas not frequently found elsewhere. The extra cost of the boat ride (K5000pp) was worth it to Inn Dein and quite fun to go through small riverways. Entrance is free but K500 for camera. Lots of souvenir stands on the 20 minute, covered and inclined walkway.

One of the best destination in Inle lake . Easy to get many informations about
that , but I want to share several less known informations . If you need some help , there is tourism police force in Inn Dein , the chief officer is U Kyaw Kyaw . From Aung Ban , you can go to Inn Dein by car or taxi . But tourists have to pay
10 USD in one of the place between Htee Thein and Kyauk Su .

This place is quite unique. You have to pay abit more for your boatman to bring u up here I laid 9000 extra for the whole boat. It's special with ruins and new pagodas

This place of pagodas gives you an unique feeling.
I liked the sound of rings on top of pagodas with the natural surrounding.
