Richards Inn, Kalaw
More comfortable place where we stay there for three night stop.
Owner aunt and staffs are very much helpful and politely treatment for us even we really reached at hotel at very early morning.response / report this review -

Amazing !
This hotel is really nice, good bed and a very good breakfast. Client reception is made by two woman who will treat you like a king. It is also one of the cheapest hostel in Kalaw. Thank you Richards Inn !response / report this review -

Lovely owners, very clean, wonderful place! Don't know why the rating isn't higher! Manager speaks great English and she's very helpful, and she tries to make your stay as comfortable as possible!

Do not stay here. Nothing is as advertised. They advertise bathrooms in their economy rooms on Agoda, but then they don't actually have bathrooms in their economy rooms. Instead they try to make you pay about 9.75$ per night for an upgrade. Really lousy and dishonest service. They also advertise that they have an elevator, car parking, free water in the rooms, car and bike rentals, airport transfer, NONE of which they have. The rooms are not actually too bad, but the dishonesty just really ruins the experience.
The owner (Richard) is also super rude when there's any kind of problem or difficulty.

Located at Pyi Htaung Su Road,near by Kalaw Market ,Thein Taung Monastery .
Reasonable Prices,Services are good and hospitality are perfected.

Our stay at Richards Inn started off fine. Breakfast was ok, staff seemed friendly and room also seemed fine for the low price. WiFi never worked but Data is cheap here in Myanmar so that was acceptable as well
After two nights we both had bites which definitely were no mosquitoes bites. We started searching the room and found a bed bug - went down and asked to change the room. Richard, the owner, told us to pack our stuff and put it outside of the room. He then started searching the room for bed bugs. He insisted that they only are to be found in the bed and started shouting at us that "There are no bed bugs in this room". I calmly tried to explain that they hide in the smallest places, not only in the bed - he consistently interrupted me and continued shouting for 10-15 minutes.
To be fair, he offered us another room Also, we know (and told him) that having bed bugs not necessarily is his fault. But after he had shouted at us and treated us in the least respectful way possible we could not imagine staying another two nights (as was planned) in this Hotel. We then asked if we could have our money back we already had paid for the coming two nights - he declined and told us he "doesn't lick everybody's ass".
Not once did he apologize for both the behaviour or the condition of the room. Honestly the worst hotel experience we have had so far and the poorest customer service we can imagine STAY AWAY!response / report this review -

Fantastic Food, great owner, lovely accommodation!
Best thai green curry I've had in ages. lovely service, some music would be nice though.

This place was absolutely wonderful. The lady woke up in the middle of the night when the bus dropped us off 4 hours early. She let us in and was still in a great mood the next day. The rooms were great. And they have TVs with free DVDs at the front desk to use! Brekkie is simple but nice in the mornings and there's a delicious Shan noodle place across the street
