Anglicized version of the Burmese staple dishes so it's a good place to start your burmese taste tour. Nice ambience with a nice bar upstairs. Good place to visit for breakfast over the weekend. Pretty full every evening. Would definitely recommend a stop here. Service is ok.

Very nice place. The food is good and is presented in a visually pleasing way. I ate there twice and was satisfied both times. You should try the chicken wrap and tea leaf salad. They also have a good selection of tea (hence the name).

Great vibes in downtown Yangon. Nicely decorated space with attentive and helpful staff. Food prices are a bit higher compared to Myanmar standards but still relatively inexpensive. Had the tofu salad and chocolate samosa. Both were delicious(the samosa in particular)! Choice for tea is wide-ranging as seen in the menu. Not entirely sure how accurate it is though - I probably would not be able to tell one from another. Well worth to drop by if you’re in Yangon.

Very nice atmosphere, high quality food and good location. Had the potato samosas, pennywort salad and a Myanmar craft beer. All very tasty!

Was a bit surprised to find a 10% service charge added to the bill. The service was definitely not that good. It was okay, sure, but in my opinion service charges should be included in the menu price (like taxes) as they are an integral part of the product your buying. Why not add a cooking charge? Or something for the decorator that styled the place?

Many places in Yangon add the service and tax to the bill in the end though, inflating the menu prices by 10% or more. That is a capitalist custom that Myanmar could still ban from its culture, before it gets too ingrained

If the stars of a Michelin guide restaurant is judged by how out of the way you'd travel for it - then this restaurant deserves a spot among the best.

Rangoon Tea house was so good we came back twice in one day (lunch, then second dinner).

The tea is a highlight, but the food, coffee and atmosphere is electric! I'm writing this review on our third visit in two days because #TheTea.

Just be prepared to pay Western prices, but you won't be disappointed.

A ***must*** visit if you're in Yangon.

First time in Rangoon so may be a bad judge but this place was fantastic. Ecclectic mix of cafe, bar and restaurant with very tasty Burmese food, good selection of drinks and delectable desserts. Cafe downstairs is bright and airy whilst upstairs Toddy Bar is dark and broody. I would highly recommend this place if your are in town and looking for casual dinner and drinks.

Fresh taste of Burmese food. Comfortable seating area with nice decorations and centrepieces. Menu is easy to understand. There is a tea guide that illustrates the different proportions of tea, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Food is delicious. Highly recommend!

First taste of Myanmar food on our trip. Absolutely delicious. Si lone tea with milk skin was a new experience (and an excellent one). Had the catfish soup with noodles (refreshing taste..) .. actually very good. Samosas were smaller than expected but delicious tiny packages anyway (we had the mutton). Would definitely return!

My favorite restaurant in Yangon! We had very great dinner here with reasonable price. Cozy ambiance, lovely staff! I also love the milk tea and the tea leaves salad. The best I had so far from my 8 days trip through Myanmar!

local tea house that is very much catered to tourist. Good way to try local food/drinks with english speaking waitstaff. Prices are higher than average, but you are paying for the location, decor and service (approx US$7pp meal+food) I would recommend trying the tea over coffee. Tea comes already sweetened.

Visually appealing interior. Amazing food. Everything we ordered was great. The service was fast and polite. Great value for the price. Average about 20 Singapore dollars per person. Recommended to call and make a reservation.

Loved! Delicious food, great variety and very reasonable prices. The spectrum of food here is fantastic! Traditional Burmese food, Indian curries, Thai soups and their own unique fusions :) In addition to having tasty foods, their drink menu is out of this world. The cocktail menu as well as beer and wine lists were extensive. The non alcoholic menu was equally extensive! I had a coconut water infused with pineapple, honey, ginger. It was so delightful and helped my stomach feel sooooo much better (as I had some terrible food poisoning earlier this week). My partner had a "create your own" smoothie that was delicious. The biryami was so good and a large portion! The small coconut soup was perfect size for a lighter appetite.

I highly recommend! The food, drinks, service and decor is just so nice. My partner forgot his hat and the manager ran after us! He found us about 3 blocks from the restaurant!!

I would recommend this as a place to go if you like to try some local food and tea. It is a little expensive compared to other local foods but can say it’s still cheap compared to other countries. It is an upscale tea house which serves delicious local foods and tea as well as some western foods and drinks for some foreigners who don’t like to take a risk.
Hygienic and delicious foods, great staffs and nice environment.
The only problem is it is very difficult to get a parking spot since it is a very crowded area.

Nice place, great overall service. Food was good. Tandoori Wrap was okay but the fries with it were amazing. Very, very good iced coffee drinks and very large selection of Teas. Ask for WiFi password the free one does not work so well. Almost always busy and had to wait for a table when we arrived.

Tea leaf pork neck: really well done, although could not taste the tea leaf so much as in the cheap fermented tea leaf salad you find somewhere else.

Mango Pickled pork curry set: soup and veggies are in tiny portion. The curry was great, although only found 1 tiny piece of mango. Disappointed that the pork had a some pieces of fat instead of actual meat.

Banana blossom with chicken: crunchy banana blossom, flossed chicken. Nice & refreshing.

The food was good for what it was; I had the Burmese chicken with rice, which was somewhat bland without a lot of condiments, but very well cooked otherwise.
Beer was delicious (Myanmar beer is actually not bad at all!).
A little on the pricey side though, which is the reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise, great service!

As a creature of habit, this week I ate lunch three days in a row at Random Tea House. I may be addicted to their delicious tea leaf salad, the duck empanadas and the after meal latte. If so, I'm perfectly fine with that.

The decor is beautifully designed. The staff are friendly and attentive. Might just be my favorite spot in the downtown.

Excellent cup of tea! Must try in this place, naturally. I have also tried fermented tea leaves salad and veggie samosas-both tasty. All in all good drink and food and the staff were very attentive. It's a bit pricey but worth to pop in even if just for a cuppa.

One of the must visits when in Yangon. Love the ambience. Staff is efficient and speak good English. Food is hygienic with a lot of options to try in Burmese cuisine. Quite many tourists or expats to be found here as it's somewhat expensive for locals here. They have a lot of options of Burmese tea. Definitely try Pickled tea leaf salad, aubergine curry and nan gyi thoke.

Trendy restaurant with a selection of delicious dishes and fresh juices. Everything was great, chicken could be a bit more spicy but overall a good experience. Dessert was excellent. (I had half a chicken slow-cooked in chilli) Recommended 👍

Since we are backpackers it first seemed a bit pricey but we decided to splurge. And it was so worth it. Really tasty food and the chocolate samosa was the best dessert I've ever eaten!

Rangoon Tea House is on every expat's list of places to take tourist friends and family to. The food is tasty, well-prepared, and local-but-not-exotic. The atmosphere is comfortable and hip (get a table upstairs if you can, much cooler vibe). The primary downside is that the service is pretty slow/inattentive for its price point and target audience. But if you're willing to be patient and not shy about flagging a waiter down it's well worth a visit.

Well I fall into the category of visitor described by the previous reviewer & have some sympathy with his comment which is observant

Having said that I have only praise for this establishment

Rangoon Tea House is a very well run restaurant, menu offers a good choice of food & judging but what we ate of a very high standard - I enjoyed the best pork I have eaten during my months stay in Myanmar. Wine by the glass good, service efficient & friendly

Price ok but obviously more expensive than 'street food' but, in my view, worth the cost if one's 'budget' permits

I went here twice in 2 days. -the food was So good! Most will say it's expat-y or not authentic but irrespective, it is SUPER TASTY food. Everything we ordered was super - king prawn curry, duck empanadas, chicken curry and especially the chicken noodles !

Definitely recommend the dry chicken noodles as they were some of the best we had in Myanmar (even if it's not authentic!).

Don't miss this place if you're in Yangon. Tip: ask to be seated upstairs for a cozier ambience!

Rangoon Tea House is for a person who wants something other than what I want from a visit to Yangon. It's good for middle-aged people who will spend US$200 on their hotel and travel in a car with a driver. It's disappointing if you are traveling closer to the local culture. Considering the decor and vibe - shiny, western, modern - we expected this place to also elevate the cuisine. The food was ok, but not better than any of the local meals we ate. To be fair, if this restaurant - with this menu - was in LA or Chicago or London, I'd probably give it 4 stars. But the local experiences and food are better elsewhere.

Cute little cafe. I suggest the tea leaf salad and other local dishes. I really enjoyed the decor, staff and food options. The upstairs is cute and makes me feel like I've stepped back in time. It's a must see if in Yangon! By no means is it "expensive" but compared to street food you may consider it however prices ranged from $2-5 USD and very worth it especially if you get sick easily from eating street food. You still get the traditional dishes but in a safer cooking environment.

A classy establishment with excellent food and service to match. The staff here are trained to understand food allergies so it is possible to enjoy lots of gluten free dishes.

The spicy chicken wings, grilled butterfly fish and banana blossom salad are all gluten free. The chicken wings and fish were stand outs. The chicken is free range which is great to know!

There is an extensive cocktail menu and non-alcoholic drink selection to match the great food. The organic mint lemonade is just like a virgin mojito. So good!

Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of food and service. Definitely recommend!
