Very strict here. For very serious meditators, 16 hour days, with good instruction. I made the mistake of going out to visit the Pagoda, without getting the proper approval. Consequently i was thrown out immediately upon my return. It’s ok though, just make sure you follow the rules by the letter, including attending every mediation session on time.
The wardens in the male dorms are very stern, and unfriendly. This is my observation, one monk said to me as I was leaving that he isn’t a good person. Sadly I tend to agree, I found no love, kindness or compassion, and maybe the Burmese are holing a lot of pain from the World war?
Good and well facilited meditation center.
One of the best place in Myanmar to practice meditation, with the best facilities and supports around. Clean, strict and tiny. Yogis will greatly benefit from the instructions laid down by the late vipassana master Sayadaw U Panditābhivamsa.
The monks teach the Buddha's saying(Dhamma) to children, adults not only local people also international people. If you want to find the peace of mind, the monks and nuns will show the way.
Nice place for a long term meditation. You need to e-mail or phone them (the center) to sponsored you for long term meditation visa. You will need their letter of sponsorship to apply for meditation with Myanmar embassy in DC (for eastern US folks) or LA (for western US folks), other countries need to contact the Myanmar embassy for your countries. You can be there for years and years, the staff at the meditation center will help you with you visa extension(s) as long as you want to stay
Really great Meditation place for all the people who believes in Theravada Buddha religion. Suitable for both men and women who wants to be a temporary Buddhist Monk and Nun. Also Panditărăma occasionally offer 7 to 10 days Meditation Camps for the people who doesn't want to be Monks or Nuns. They have the great summer Buddhist Monk literacy programs for kids and teenagers (between the age of 7 to 20). That program have 4 levels for them every summer they need to be pass to understand and achieve Buddhist literacy and great knowledge. I did personally passed level 3 when I was 11 years old. They also have the meditation camps during in the period of water festival in every years for ordinary people. Just one thing as a reminder they do have strict rules for every programs they offer. But I do promise that you will have a peace of mind after you finished one of their program.
