This little, air-conditioned, shop is on the southern edge of Ngapali Beach main Street The few items they offer for sale are definitely a cut above the "usual" offerings. The espresso is a nice touch, and after a long walk or explore, the gelatos are a dream. Try the lemon/orange or the ginger. Both present a mouthful of flavors. Or for something completely different, try the curry (yes, curry) flavored one!!

To be frank, Ngapali is not the best place for shopping, due to the lack of commerce and the higher prices compared to big tourist destinations like Yangon. You can still find some souvenir shops at Ngapali Beach, but most of them sell the same kind of stuff.

There is, however, a shop called Mimi Souvenir Shop which was recently opened by a lovely Burmese lady and her German husband, selling nice souvenirs that are different (and even nicer) than the other generic stuff you find at other souvenir shops in Ngapali.

The shop is just under a mango tree and is definitely worth a visit. All the souvenirs are tastefully chosen by the owners and there will definitely be something to catch your eye.

You’ll find silver jewelry, handbags, shawls and beautiful shoes made from local fabric, not to mention beautiful scarfs and organic soaps. Items are good quality at a good price and the owners are welcoming and kind.

In addition, trying its homemade ice cream will be a highlight of your visit to the shop. It’s exceptionally good with almost 10 different flavors; exotic ones like tamarind, lemongrass or ginger, as well as classic ones rarely found anywhere else, and made with great care and fresh and tasty ingredients.

The ice cream is made by the owner, a German chef, and many visitors come each day just to have a taste of heaven and a cold break from the scorching hot days at the beach. Sitting at the small shop terrace and eating a couple of scoops may simply seem like bliss.
