  the temple on the hill where was the first shrine of the highly revered Mahamuni Buddha Image before being moved to Mandalay suburb nowadays, the temple itself is decorated with delicate wooden art, the museum nearly is worth to visit for a glimpse of the oldest capital of Rakhine, Dhanyawadi.

  by the main road between Sittwe and Mrauk U, approximately 40 km. north of MraukU, but may take about an hour by bus.

  the place is not for wheelchair person with high steep long stairway up to the main temple on the hill.

  Ce bouddha géant hyper gros par l'or qui l entoure est vraiment joli. les femmes ne sont pas autorisées à s approcher. Les hommes peuvemt emtrer et toucher ce buddha. On peut acheter un petit sachet avec des feuilles d or à 2000 kyrts, 1 euros.
