Mostly a showroom for the making of gold leaf and bamboo paper. There is also a jewelry shop, and you can watch the workers as they hand craft the gold and jewelry. It's a very quick stop, doesn't take a long time, and is worth a quick view if you've never seen the process in action before.
Great place to view gold leaf making. The higher costly stuff are closer to tourist price but the gold leaf and the small gold square that they put on the Buddha are worth the price! Buy here to avoid awkwardness from buying at the temple.
Interesting and real. And the best experiences are free. No pressure to buy.
A fascinating look at an age old technique for making gold leaf. It will blow your mind when you see the effort required to produce one tiny sheet of gold leaf and then you think of the sheer volume of gold leaf needed for just one pagoda or huge Buddha statue.
Okay place. Guess the best that you can get in Mandalay. I review the Gold Leaf Hotel..Not the museum..
Quite an interesting place where you can see the gold leaf making. From the process of making bamboo sheets to making gold leaf and then preparing stacks, all of it can be seen here. You can shop some souvenirs as well.
You get to learn the process of gold leaf production and watch them make it. It's quite interesting. They'll bring you here if you join one of the private or group tours around Mandalay.
Get to know the process to create the Gold Leaf. Friendly staffs, genuinely trying to help.
As you arrive someone will approach to explain how gold leaf making works, while you observe the workers at their jobs (for free). There's a big gift shop, with things to buy at a range of price points, and you don't feel too pressured to buy anything -- but to be honest we did, as the guide was very nice and also who can resist buying a tiny gold bear.
Nice place to visit. Very expensive but understandable.
Traditional gold leaf making. Excellent gold made souvenirs
Yes, a bit of a tourist trap that lives of showing you the process of making gold leaves, then selling you other expensive gifts and items. But, still, you have to go, it's really fun to watch.
Simple presentation of gold leaf making but no gift shop. Just one room. Need a guide to explain the various tools.
