Established since 1845, the Karen Baptist Theological Seminary (KBTS) is a foremost Christian institution that has produced more than 5000 Christian leaders to serve as pastors, organizational leaders, and seminary teachers among the Karens and other ethnic groups in Myanmar. Recognizing the need to prepare thoughtful, compassionate and well-rounded future leaders, KBTS began to offer four bachelor’s degree programs in liberal arts majors – Business Administration (since 2006), Computer Science (since 2004), English (since 2002) and Karen Studies (since 2007). Currently, there are 11 full-time faculty members and a total of 286 students studying in the various liberal arts degree and certificate programs.
