Ordered the lemongrass chicken and fish curry sour dishes. The rice came separately and was served a complimentary glass of tea! Chicken was slightly tough and dry and cooked with lots of onions so if you're a fan of onions, you'll enjoy this. The fish dish was sour but appetising with a fish cakey texture and chewy. Reckon it's more value for money if you dine in a group here!
Fresh and tasty food and lots of options for vegetarians, a little pricier than the average Myanmar restaurant but worth it for the good service and nice setting.
A bit disappointing if you show up with high expectations from the reviews. Not bad by any means and the food was tasty although not the greatest value.
Dish didn't include rice, fair enough, but they never asked and never informed me that there was no more rice.
Went to this place based on reviews just to find out it is way overrated. Food ordering is hard because menu doesn’t say enough about dishes and personnel is not much of a help. So you are more or less left gambling. Food itself is really nothing special, especially considering the price. Pork was chewy, duck uneatable, one person never received the dish etc
Only good thing was squid with sticky rice.
I can't believe I am the sole dissenting voice regarding this restaurant. Have none of the other reviewers used the bathroom? Have any of them tried to wash their hands here?
Health and safety regulations are lax and this is putting it very mildly. We both have diarrhea today which we avoided in our ten days in Myanmar up until tonight.
I am no squeamish germaphobe, but to pay these prices for this food (which I did not find to be that tasty) in this ambience is insulting.
The fact that there were only tourists on the night we visited speaks volumes and so does the Myanmar times article praising the restaurant in English plastered on the wall.
Last but not least I must mention it took them a full hour before we got our food and there was only one other table expecting their order before us.
Great food. The service was friendly and spoke English well. Beware of Bones but worth it to dig through them. Never had Mon good before and this was a great start! I plan to return.
This is a delicious restaurant in a quiet street. We ordered pineapple chicken and it was amazing, I loved it with all my heart! My husband couldnt eat cause it was too spicy for him, so beware. We also had lemongrass minced with chicken and pumpkin soup, both delicious. For desert, we had sago and black rice with coconut and both was also amazing. I really loved this restaurant!!! ❤❤❤
The manager seems friendly and willing to explain each dish and give recommendations.
Very disappointed in the elephant apple pork, it was chewy and hard, although the soup was nice.
The fish cake were very disappointing, only 3 pieces and so tiny.
The mango juice was great, fresh, no suggar or water added.
Portions are small so it's a bit pricy for what it is.
I was surprised at how much I liked this place. It’s a small family owned restaurant on a quiet street. I ordered lemongrass chicken, prawn cakes, and a fish curry. All three were outstanding - one of the best meals I’ve had in Yangon. Highly recommend if you are looking for an interesting ethnic restaurant.
Food was different from other Burmese restaurants. Staff is friendly and my food came out quick. Vegetarian options and you can verify and get recommendations on what is vegetarian. Prices a bit higher than other local restaurants but worth it for a treat. Walking distance from the shwedagon pagoda
Great food and friendly staff. A great place to meet local people.
Best restaurant in yangon! Bamboo salad is a must try. Other dishes are delicious too. My only regret is not having enough time to come back here during our trip
I love the vegetable dishes. It's so nice to eat grease free :)
Great prices and tasty food. The sticky rice stuffed squid was particularly good.
It seems that some of the varieties of rice are only done on certain days of the week, so I'll definitely have to go back.
Great food, such different flavours and tastes to the big standard Myanmar food you get everywhere. Well worth a visit
Nicely presented and tasting food for good price!
This family run restaurant is small but offers tasty food, very friendly service, cozy ambience, all at good price as well.
