Such a lovely mix of locals (often singing and playing guitar) and travelers. Delicious rum sours, and a dedicated owner who collects and distributes donations for the local hospital on a monthly basis.

The place to drink in Kalaw. Atmosphere is outstanding, as are the drinks. Intimate setting - try to get there early if you want a seat. Acoustic guitar is frequent

Up there with the best bars we've visited in Asia. A very cool atmosphere with cheap tasty drinks and snacks to match. The owner is a lovely man who speaks execellent English and is always up for a chat with his customers.
A must visit when you come to Kalaw.

Absolutely terrific little boat-bar with great rum sours!

Having read a few decent reviews on other well-known travel sites we decided to drop in during our visit to Kalaw. We weren't disappointed! We almost walked straight passed but for the "Hi" sign outside. Peering in we could see the dimly lit bar and my eyes lit up! The bar is a very narrow U shaped wooden boat-exterior with seat perched around it, and creates a very sociable and enjoyable atmosphere. The owner, who sparked up conversation with us shortly after entering, spoke excellent English and was very engaging. This is the kind of bar in which time stands still, but one gets more and more tipsy. Well worth a visit!
