Nothing fanciful. It is what it is, a transit terminal. Taxi ride is arranged at the terminal exit and it’s a standard 25,000kyat to Nyaungshwe, no bargaining.
In a way, this is a historical airport. Very small by Western standards Check-in, security is fast, locals sell fresh fruits. Across the street, there is a local place that sells food, drinks.
Bathrooms are bit dirty, and its a sit down toilet.
Very small domestic airport. Don't expect to get a meal here. They do have a small counter with snacks and drinks. Flights from here are commonly late. Be prepared to wait an extra hour or two. The check In is very fast and easy. You can catch taxis outside the airport entrance on the road. A small car is 25,000 one way to Taunggyi, Inle Lake, or Kalaw.
Fast check in and security check, just show up 40 minutes before departure.
They also have clean sit-down toilets.
There is also a smoking room past the security check.
Bunch of taxis waiting outside, ready to get you to your destination. No need to organise anything. 30k to get to Kalaw.
Very interesting airport, small and you can walk to the plane also. Not organized but seems quick, so you just need to come 40mins before the flight.
Certainly an experience :). Nothing compared to a "modern" airport, but thats what it makes it charming. 2 Stars for organization, comfort 5 stars for "see something special"
Small but comfortable enough for traveling between Inle Lake and Mandalay, Bagan or Yangon.
Interesting airport mainly for domestic travel to Heho along with Inle Lake tourist traffic. Guys will get your luggage for you and bring it to car for 3000 chats (about £2) if you give receipts from check in. Small terminal but sells lovely coffee in the coffee shop.
Small, but rather lively airport. Amazingly features wine shop with Aythaya Vinery products.
