I think this place is one of the most authentic old places. You can ride a horse cart to get to there or rent a car. The place needs some restoration work but I think the lack of retouching also maybe what’s making it more attractive for visitors.
But be prepared for lack of hygienic restaurants and clean toilets since it is located in a rural area.

The Bagaya Monastery (Burmese: ဘားဂရာ ကျောင်း), located in Inwa, Mandalay Region, Burma (Myanmar) is a Buddhist monastery built on the southwest of Inwa Palace. This magnificent monastery is also known as Maha Waiyan Bontha Bagaya Monastery. During King Hsinbyushin's reign (1763–1776), Maha Thiri Zeya Thinkhaya, town officer of Magwe built the monastery in the Bagaya monastic establishment and dedicated to Shin Dhammabhinanda. It is one of the famous tourists attractions in Burma.

The most beautiful and most impressive teak temple in Myanmar. In rainy season the views of the surrounding countryside is really astounding.

The monastery is preserved well, and in good condition. The amazing part is there is a tiny school inside. A few kids and little monks are studying there, and several globals hanging on the roof. Very peaceful and tranquil scene.
