Actually one of the cleanest train stations I have been so far in Myanmar. Strangely the staff was less friendly than in other more run down places. Maybe they are used to foreigners now. One kid asked me for 1000 mmk tip for just pushing my bicycle down to the luggage wagon. It was outrageous! I just had a fantastic meal before boarding the train in bagan for 1500 mmk and this kid wants almost so much just for doing nothing. Then I see the bunch of foreigners smoking cigars and boarding the dedicated sleeper wagon for 60$ per person and I kinda of understand where this behaviour comes from. My ticket did cost 12000 mmk or 9 dollars for a 20 hours journey, to put things in perspective! But anyway the station is beautiful and pleasant

Beautiful weather&Interesting build&nice food&charger for people
Sleeper class was included bathroom but seems very old&damaged and not mobile charging plugs.response / report this review -

You have to bargin hard with the taxi kartell here to get a good priced taxi, but the train is still the cheapest way to travel Myanmar.

One of the only central railway stations in the world that is located further from the center than the airport. Nice efficient station though, with friendly staff to help foreigners.
