The big snake or Naga protection Buddha image implied protection or sanctuary site for King Kyansittha while he 's fleeing his brother King Sawlu. The panoramic view depicted Nagayone or Husband Temple (King Kyansittha) and Apeyadana of Wife Temple, just across the road.
