This is a small airport that doesn't have many flights. As such, security closes between flights and passengers are generally not allowed to go through security much before boarding of their flights. There's a pretty good reason for this: there's not much airside/after security. The problem I found is that this creates a pushing and shoving/ignoring the queue atmosphere. At least from my perspective, the whole security/getting airside issue was poorly handled. That said, I've only flown from the airport once. Prior to security, you'll find a small shop selling reasonably priced food and drink - for an airport - and a café. For those arriving, there are car rental services very close to the airport as you exit.
Very boutique airport at balkan area. Staff are very friendly
The best here.
Great airport
Everything looks half built lol
Small airport with bad arrangements. Boarding, lounge area and check-in is all in 1 hall with hardly room to move.

A small airport where only a few planes (8-10) arrive every week (!) At the end of the runway the aircraft takes almost 180 degrees with its nose. Taxiing slowly to the main building where the plane comes almost above the building roof. Arrival and departure hall. Small bar; serving drinks and snacks. Very small duty free shop (30m2) Luggage fast on the belt. POSITIVE: Transfer to Ohrid and other places is about 25 minutes - 60 minutes depending on the number of hotels served.
Good place, not too far from city.
The worst airport experience ever
We were actually on board of the first WizzAir LON-OHR flight in 2015 which -as the airport just reopened- was a big thing for the town.
A huge crowd was waiting for us, we were greeted with bread and salt (and cheap, sugary soft drinks), politicians were shaking hands and children were waving flags, it was a nice surprise at first.
The issues started right after we got to the main building.
First of all, beware, there're no connections to the city of Ohrid and cabs charge as much as 30€ for the 15min drive. Secondly, it's definitely the most underequipped and bureaucratic small airport in Europe - there's only one cash machine with huge charges and the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful.
About the departure.
The whole flight's luggage was checked 4 times (!) and not because of security reasons, but to lick the boots of Wizzair so our luggage does not exceed the allowed number and dimensions. Even the policemen behaved like they would be bloodsucking WizzAir employees!
The duty free staff obviously had a hangover, the crew was rude and altogether, they only tried to do their best to please the airline and not the passengers.
Finally, we were waiting for 2 hours to board as the ground handling was slow, inexperienced and inefficient.
Ohrid is a wonderful place to visit, but the airport is horrible. Try to avoid!
