Never pay for an item in advance and never send your item before you receive payment for it.
Never give your etrade account security information such as user name, ebanking account password, credit card number etc.
Be careful of the identity of the person with whom who make the deal and always request for confirmation of the identity. The owner is always authorized to return stolen property, even if you are not aware of its origin.
The transactions abroad are hard to control and cancel. Sometimes, frauds give false confirmation of payment which shows the money has been transferred to your account.
Never use payment services such as Western Union, BidPay or Money Gram. It is very hard to control and/or cancel/terminate the payment because these transactions are usually subject of fraud.
Give special attention if the offer seems too good to be true or if the other party is anxious to conclude the deal as quickly as possible.
For deals that include large amounts of money, it is best first to consult a bank, to inform yourself about safe transaction.

Vehicle sales

Mind whether the person with whom you conclude the dead is the actual owner of the vehicle. Also check whether there is a mortgage on the vehicle.
If the interested party wants to test the vehicle, never let him/her do it by himself/herself. Always acompany them. If it is a motorbike, request a valid identification document.
Beware of fake ”vehicle brokers”. They will contact you with the promise of helping you sell your car. Sometimes they give you a small deposit and disappear with the car.
