While some are enjoying a well-deserved vacation, we joined other SCI branches and groups from Europe for a branch meeting in Barcelona, to discuss the state of art of our organisations and to identify how we can support each other's growth together with Service Civil International (SCI). The meeting is kindly hosted by Servei Civil Internacional.

The youth exchange Youth Participation Parkour brought together 24 youngsters from Macedonia, Belgium and Fiji for a 10-day exchange with a focus on exploring mechanisms of youth participation both in the European and Pacific contexts. The group has experienced a real cultural integration by living a week together with locals in the village of Yavulo, which received the group very warmly in their houses. The second part of the youth exchange, held in Suva, the capital of Fiji, focused on visiting various NGOs and institutions that support youth participation in Fiji and in the Pacific region.

CID participated with a team of 10 young people at European Youth Event 2018 with an activity called CHANGEMAKERS: find the key to a better Europe. Together with other young people from Europe, we explored how young people can mobilise to improve the situation of young refugees in Europe, and brainstormed to come up with suggestions for European decision-makers on how to make European policy more inclusive to improve the integration of young refugees.
