Yesterday my wife and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary at ocean 82 and it was AWESOME. We sat at a table for two located right at the railing with the glass divider so you can see the sights and feel the breeze coming in off the ocean. The sunset was amazing. The staff was super attentive and the food was incredible. This is definitely a restaurant to check out, you will be very pleased you did.
The place is nice with an amazing view on the sea, but considering the food, the quality was not height as the expectations.
It's not value for money and unfortunately also several bedbugs on the floor near our table.
Very fine dinning! Truly exquisite with an amazing view. We sat in a corner table with the shutters adjusted perfectly to keep the setting sun glow to a minimum but allowed us to enjoy the view too. We enjoyed both warm and cold appetizers perfectly prepared and pared with a sweet white wine. Scalups were amazing with fine slices of duck laying across the top of each one. Here is the awesome part, out son played on the beach directly below while we enjoyed.
How could I not give it 5 stars?
Food:
For starters we had the eggplant with buffalo mozzarella, which was a little pricey but delicious. We all had the beef tenderloin, which had an amazing flavor and was cooked to perfecrion.
Atmosphere: You honestly can't go wrong. It is fine dining with an ocean view. You may even be lucky enough to see the 24 inch turpin swimming around.
Service:
The service was awesome. It was super speedy and everything came out appropriately.
I've been to St Maarten 9 times this past year and only just discovered this restaurant. My fiance and I were seated at the water. A clear panel allows you to see straight out and you almost feel like you're in the water. Servers were extremely attentive. I started with a French Martini, YUM! We shared an appetizer of Lobster & Mushroom Ravioli in truffle oil which was heavenly. I had the Lobster Risotto, my fiance had the sauteed shrimp. For dessert we shared the creme brulee and honestly I was disappointed because the consistency was watery..disappointing but not enough to mar the absolutely wonderful food, ambiance & view. I WILL BE BACK!
We absolutely loved our evening at Ocean 82. All our food choices were deliciousespecially the desserts, the staff was attentive and engaging and the views are spectacular, even on a rainy night. This is a must visit and we will definitely eat here again on our next trip back to St Martin!
We walked in tonight and were promptly seated on the deck with no reservations (12.4.17). We enjoyed the sunset with outstanding mojitos with dark rum and began ordering. The service was excellent, the food was very good as were the desserts. This is my favorite spot in Grand Case so far. Gratuity must be handled in cash like most places but there was the ability to ask for it to be added on prior to the card being charged. Our evening was 4.5-5 stars for our experience coming from 18 years in San Francisco. It seems to get busier at 8pm. We were there at 6. It was a less busy night in Grand Case after the festival the night prior.
We passed by this restaurant and the hostavaisia was very nice, lured us in so after glancing at the menu we reserved for the next evening. We had a party of 11. After we arrived and we're seated the whole attitude changed. The two waiters were super snooty and rude, rolled their eyes when we asked for 3 checks. Made us order food before even taking drinks order. Took forever to bring everything. Food mediocre at best. Took half hour to get dessert. To top it all of, after we got the bill our friend had a question about his, to which the wait or replied I a broken English: " Tired of your table, you ask too many questions. " Then he proceeded with more insults was horrible, so embarrassing. We are from New York and been to most prestigious restaurants in Paris, Monte Carlo, Rome, Sicily, e.t.c.This restaurant would not survive 1 day elsewhere. Just NO
This place is great to try while in SXM. The only reason I'm rating it 4 stars is because of the wait times. Reservations for dinner are an absolute must otherwise you will be here long! We had oysters as we waited by request, they weren't willing to serve us food at the bar until we insisted. Food was great, fish pot was much like chowder but portion size was gracious. They really did outdo themselves with the lobster and beef tenderloin (it is cooked to perfection!!!) Definitely a must try item on the menu. We had a mishap with some spilled wine by the server but the dish was replaced within minutes. The ambiance is incredible if you get a table by the ocean!
Best food on the island. Friendly, fast service and located in an amazing ambiance. The grilled turbot to share was out of this world and the server did a great job on fileting it in front of us tableside. The lobster and scallops were cooked to perfection. I would recommend making reservations if coming after 8pm as it does get quite popular later at night.
Excellent location as well as service and food quality. Menu is not big, but daily specials are offered. Biggest lobster tank on the strip. Amazing patio overhanging the beach
