One of the worse airport we have been. It's all consistent, starting from check in, extremely crowded, continuing with inadequate security control, who wants to throw out all the geeky stuff you have in backpack as it looks suspicious and nice finish at the gates where air condition it not working and you are sitting in crowded closed area with 40°C inside while 33 outside. Never ever again I want to visit Montenegro.

Might be the worst airport I ever been on. The terminal was overcrowded with only four departing airplanes. The temperature at the gates were dangerously high (35C +) with no functional AC or fan of any kind, many people (me included) had to sit on a dirty floor, drinking overprices warm water from the shop. People in there was suffering. If you are seriously considering to visit Montenegro make sure to not fly from Tivat airport, just a fair warning.

Awful service by airport management. Haven’t seen such a bad airport. It is touristic and busiest airport but they operate like town bus station. No certain queues to departures, people stressed with not reaching their flights. What a beautiful country, but it is sad leaving it with bad experience.

Nice and convenient airport in Tivat, the airport is small but cozy, you cab take a break before your flight ✈️ with a coffee or a snack, there is a duty free shops in the airport and the stuff around are nice and helpful, there are not enough seats for every one so you better harry on to catch a seat, the airport is well organised.

A small but friendly little airport in proximity to Tivat town centre. I stayed at the Regent Porto Montenegro and the taxi ride was approx 12 minutes and costed just over a very reasonable 5 euros.
The airport is very compact; however, more than sufficient space, as my flight to MAN on 06 April 2022 was less than 40% full. The only other commercial departure at around the same time was a regional flight to BEG. With very few passengers numbers, security took less than 5 minutes to get through (much better than the long chaotic lines back in MAN). That said, there is limited seating so, as noted in previous reviews, it could become very crowded should there be more (and full) flights departing at the same time. I'd therefore anticipate long queues if visiting Tivat during the peak summer season.
Beyond security, there is just a cafe and a duty-free shop (which also sells bottled water to take onboard flights) as well as locally produced wine, olive oil and other Montenegro souvenirs.
Soon after takeoff, passengers can get stunning views of Boca Bay, the surrounding mountains and Adriatic Sea.

From what I have heard it is not great in the summer holidays. I would recommend going in the Easter. When I went the weather was perfect and it was like I had the place to myself. Everything was still open though.
(although I cannot guarantee the good weather that I got!)

Very small airport which is incredibly overcrowded during summer months.
It is clear that this airport wasn't built with such huge influx of tourist in mind which Tivat has seen recently. It is very likely that some kind of expansion n of existing airport facilities will happen in near future.

Be careful of scam! We got ripped up by this guy in his "legal private taxi" with "Taxameter". He was taking us all over the wrong places, threatening us and shouting once we refused to pay. Really bad experience once you come out of the airport!

The small airport has a outdoor cafe before checkin which was very busy, other than this there are few food options. After security it is just duty free and no cafe we could see so we paid to go into the tiny lounge, where the staff were friendly but we ended up with food poisoning from one of the cakes (the only thing all day our daughter, who was not ill, did not eat that we did, so we are certain). It ruined the first day back home.

Horrible place! The temperature outside is about +36C, and they don't have an AC, it feels like you are in hell! Not enough seats, the majority of visitors have to stand, though there is not enough room for standing even. There is only a duty free shop with the melt chocolate, no other place to buy some food or water. Check in line was opened in time, but there was no officer at his desk for about 20 min, we'd just been standing and waiting, airport stuff looked relaxed and none was inclined to explain something. Nightmare!

The worst airport I have ever experienced. No way to check in online for flights so huge queues at all the desks; then huge queues to get through security and another huge queue for passport control. There simply isn't enough capacity for the number of people trying to use this airport. After all that there's not even anywhere to grab a bottle of water, other than queuing for another 20 minutes to trundle through the long narrow duty free store. My flight had to share a gate with one leaving 10 minutes earlier, we then got moved to another gate which already had another queue of people waiting for an entirely different destination. Final call is literally just a woman walking round the departure lounge shouting. Absolute bloody chaos. And on top of that the WiFi didn't work.

Small and simple, one coffee shop at the entrance and a the duty-free consists of one narrow shop. There are axi drivers waiting outside and a few car rental companies. Close to Budva (25min) and Kotor (10min).

TL:DR = Shocking!
Arrival was easy and passport control and baggage collection was swift. We were hit by the stench of tobacco as soon as we got outside though! All in all not bad. Getting home was a different story.
Our flight was cancelled (eventually) after hours and hours of sitting in the "departure lounge". The communication from airport staff was non-existent. Free food and drink after the hours of waiting as per the rules and regs? Nah, stuff you. Sit there and bake in the greenhouse.I mean departure loungeis what the non-existent staff could have said.
The duty free is a joke. They were selling the wine we had been drinking all week at 3 Euro a bottle for 6 euro. You aren't getting ANY bargains there! It's a corridor of consumerist misery.
There is insufficient seating in the departure lounge and our full day in the space was miserable. I hope to return to Montenegro one day but not this airport. Grim!

Very small airport. You exit the plane and walk to the passport control directly. No cafes at the departure, there's only one cafe outside near the checkin counters.

Disorganised, poor facilities, no information.
Obviously too small and struggling to cope with the volume of traffic in the summer.
Arrival was quite smooth, no significant delays at passport control or baggage claim.
Departure was shambolic. No applicable information on the departure boards or check in desk displays. Haphazard queuing with no obvious system or signage, everyone just asked other passengers for their advice!
Passport control and security was fairly swift through to the departure area. This is not a lounge, you will not be lounging! There is one seat to three or four passengers. You will be standing or sitting on the floor. There is no air conditioning, it gets very hot. If the doors are open to the apron for passengers that are boarding be prepared to choke on jet fumes from adjacent idling aircraft. There is no café so don't expect a refreshing coffee or cold drink. There is a duty free shop which is a shambles, very small, and not at all low prices, for example, a bottle of coke which is 70cents airside is €2 in the shop.
Gates are assigned haphazardly and you will not necessarily board at the allotted time or even through the allotted gate. Have your wits about you and be prepared for a less than relaxing end to your holiday!
If you're lucky enough to get a seat don't give it up the moment they announce boarding, you can probably stay seated for another thirty minutes or so and just get up when you see the doors open and the queue start to move!!!!
