Was there at end of march, everything was overflooded by the melted snow.
Skadar lake is the largest lake in the Balkans.
This is the only habitat of pelicans in the south of Europe.
On the islands and around the lake, was built many monasteries and churches. Legend has it that it was a total of 365th.This place is known as a holy Zetska mountain. Among the best known are Vranjina, Kom, Starčeva glavica, Beška, the old prison Grmožur, Lesendro .
Some of the places to visit on the lake are: Rijeka Crnojevića, Virpazar, Murići, Plavnica, Karuč, Dodoši, Žabljak Crnojevića
But it is not bad to look at the map, (of course google maps:) and find interesting place, because there are planty of them.
I loved the place, i went by boat with my family to see the lake and it was beautiful
This more a travel services agency. We received some info but it was mostly about selling a boat trip.
Great view! Mountains, lake, birds! Relax and take it easy)
Big lake, lots of birds but also lots of plastic. Pick your boat tour carefully.
Cute small town where you can book boat tours to Lake Skadar. One hour tour cost only 10€ + 4€ entrance fee to the national park.
We had a private tour of 2 hours, beautiful views of the lake and mountains, many different types of birds and we stopped by a private beach for swimming.
Very beautiful lake. Nice and peaceful! Don't miss restaurant as fish are very tasty.
A fantastic old town on the Skadar Lake. Created by nature for tourism. Bicycles, hiking, boating, even on motorcycles. Super. It has several old roads to the Bar and to Ulcinj.
I love this place.
PROMO-MONTENEGRO recommends.
Very beautiful views .. rented kayaks to explore. Amazing birds .. although pollution from discarded plastic and the COPIOUS amounts of boat rides slightly tainted the serenity. Beautiful beach 10k bike ride from Virpazar.
Not so much the visitor centre (which was nice and friendly) but Lake Skadar is a wonderful location. I fear though that unless people are careful with litter pollution then the lake may not always be so wonderful.
When you take a boat trip great experience is what you can expect here. But choose the one which will suite your needs by price and taxi period and not the very first offer you meet when arrive to Virpazar.
A very convinient lake for fishing, especially for those who loves catfish.
Looks like a nice national park but the shortest boat trip around is for 1 hour. There are no custom trips.
Wonderful lake, excellent tourist guides in the neighborhood! I would recommend to explore the lake by kayak if you're able to.
The boat of Milica, was very friendly and helpful. Very recommend.
Beautiful sceneries. It is worth taking a boat to have 1-hour lake trip between fields of water-lily plants.
