Top center of the central Chisinau. 200 years-old mystic and sacred cathedral especially for Moldovian Orthodox Christians. Should be visit at Chisinau.

The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity is the main cathedral of the Moldovan Orthodox Church in Chișinău, Moldova. It was commissioned by the governor of New Russia, Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, and Metropolitan Gavril Bănulescu-Bodoni in 1830. The cathedral was built in the 1830s to a Neoclassical design by Abram Melnikov. The cathedral was bombed during World War II, and its bell tower was destroyed by the Communists in 1962. The new bell tower was constructed in 1997. During the Soviet period, worship was prohibited and the cathedral was transformed into an exhibition center. The inside was completely blank during the Soviet period but nowadays it sports beautiful painted walls in pure orthodox style.

A wonderful place to relax,watch the kids playing and enjoying the life. Take your time to stay and enjoy an ice cream during the spring,summer or autumn. Calming atmosphere with beautiful people relaxing or passing by. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN THIS WONDERFUL LITTLE TOWN!

The park is so refreshing during hot summer in Moldova, you can try to play chess there - on the big chess table in front of cathedral.

Nice place. Too bad it does not have any chairs. This is not the case in Catholic or Protestant churches.
