Beautifull old village with a monastery on the hill top

It's one of the most picturesque landscape views in Moldova. Vicinity of Sher-al-Jadid or New City - the capital of Nogai Khan times circa the end of XIIIth century. Somehow they look crater-like from one point indeed. However this is what is called Toltry - a mountainous arched limestone ridge. It is the only mountain range in the world, that was born as a result of vital activity of living organisms in middle thru late Miocene as opposed to those that appeared as a result of tectonic processes. Wikipedia suggests that there are similar formations in US and UK but without any references I cannot find what they are called in English. I believe they all borrow their names after locations.
