Extremly rude staff, very expensive food and wine, not the menu nor the waiter doesn’t specify the quantity, and they charge food by 100 grams, waiters didn’t bring us a drink menu and we found out they charge 255 MLD for 50 ml of JB whiskey. I asked for a dish with mushrooms, they got me a dish with chicken and mushrooms.
house’s wine was the worst wine ever. and in Moldova they have awsome wines!

The waiter treated us like we were totally unwelcomed there.

Definitely we will NEVER GO back THERE!!!!!

Warning. This is a well known tourist-trap. Food is extremely expensive and had to wait for more than 90 minutes. And it wasn't good at all. We asked for a wine recommendation. at the end they charged us the most expensive bottle they had.
I definitely do not recommend this place!

La Taifas is one of Chisinau's top destinations for traditional Moldovan food, wine, and music. Must-try dishes include zaema (chicken soup), sarmale (rice and meat stuffed in cabbage), placinte (wide selection of ingredients stuffed in fried bread), mamaliga (polenta accompanied by cheese, sour cream, egg, and a selection of meats), and any of their lamb dishes.

Nice place with a traditional vibe, the staff was friendly and the prices are higher than other places. The food was overall very good, I highly recommend the soups. I also had some beef stew but it had too much fat for my taste. Other main courses were better.

In my opinion it´s not a typical moldavian restaurant, but you can eat there the typical moldavian food which is very very tasty. You have there nice atmosphere and you will be received when you enter the restaurant with house made vine and nuts from i think the senior chief of the restaurant. Very very friendly and kind. I like such stuff.

My initial thoughts of the place were good: that it had a nice traditional style, local food, wine and music; but once receiving the bill, we found out that we were overcharged for the main dish (which was not what we had ordered from the menu).
As a local, I'm familiar with the traditional cuisine and was shocked to find out that the waiter built me for the most expensive dish of the main course.
After pointing out the charge made to us to the waiter, he accused me that it was my error and insinuated that I had ordered the dish knowingly, which was not true.
Being with my tourist friend who wanted to experience the taste of the authentic moldovan cuisine, I felt shocked and embarrassed.
Totally disappointed and will try to avoid such touristical traps.

I had so much fun here. This is a great place to come for a traditional Moldovan meal. The stuffed cabbage is a great appetizer. The rabbit with dumplings is delicious. Watch out for bones in the rabbit. The wine is delicious. They offer you a small glass of house wine when entering and leaving the restaurant. The live music is fun and enjoyable.

the worst traditional restaurant in Chisinau. Avoid served home made wine both red and white, they are undrinkable! Sitting already an hour with no m as in dishes!
