The So called "Green Lane" in this AirPort doesn't exist, they never let anyone to use it(few people might get lucky though) . From my experience they like to confiscate goods from travelers however if u really need it bribe might help. Desperate money suckers.
High-grade building, moldovan atmosphere, nice design, compact size, many direct flights to European cities and CIS countries, many direct flights to Europe and CSI cities, 15 min from the city; is available public transport - shuttle bus nr.30 ( goes to the Center of Chisinau, ticket price 2 mdl (~0.1 €)), taxi (cost 70 mdl~3.4€), fixed-route taxi (route nr. 165, ticket price 3 mdl)
It's a small airport. The only one to enter and exit Moldova. Located 11 km from the city center. Can reach it by 165 minibus or 31 trolleybus or A bus, all of them depart from the city center. The taxi should cost from 80 to 110 lei going to the airport and about 15-20% more if going from the airport to Chisinau (as of April 2018). Beware of the unofficial taximen "hunting" their passengers at the arrival. Call a local taxi company instead.
Nice modern airport. Never had any issues here. Cozy ambience. Friendly staff. After the recent renovations it looks even better.
The modernization works are still ongoing here, but the place already look decent. Probably one of the most comfortable airports in the region in its category (about 1 mil passengers per year).
It’s small and cozy, has a fair options for duty free shopping, kids playground and one large cafeteria.
However the checkin area is relatively small and during rush hours becomes very crowded, noisy and unpleasant.
We flew to Egypt for holidays, we were with a child, we had to wait 3 hours before the plane, we did not know what to do about it. But on arrival at the airport, time passed not noticeably, excellent cafes, there is something to occupy yourself and the child! Very good airport!
We waited a couple of hours for the flight, we arrived in advance. Very good service at the airport. Time was not noticeable. A lot of cafes and places to relax! Good observation deck! All perfectly!
Airport of Chisinau is cozy and small. As I can understand it was renovated recently. The interesting thing - there is a duty free shop in just arrival area, just before passport control. There are several caffees. Also there is an exchange service.
Great improvements, big potential! Can't wait for my next trip home!
Very nice airport. Chisinau had made the best of it. Love it
It is clean and I've seen a lot worse so not gonna destroy this place but I can't get past a few annoyances. It has a gate and that's good. Still not prime time and takes a bus ride to and from but that's all good. It is clean and I've seen a lot worse so not gonna destroy this place but I can't get past a One would thing the new addition of a small parking structure should improve organization but they figured a way to make even this a bit more than complicated (trust me on this one). Passport control isn't horrid but customs can grab ya and give you a bunch of unnecessary grief if you're not careful so be ready for it or at least ready to pay a little 'fine' if they decide a phone and a tablet means you're trying to import goods etc The new 'brand' tune they play before every single dang announcement is still boring a hold into my brain (yeah, just me) but the one that really bugs me is how every time I am here, those waiting for a plane always decide to take up 3-4 of the limited chairs while others stand. perhaps it's just me. but that just chaps me. Anyway, I do love Moldova.
It's getting better each year. The only airport I know that has a public transport connection (trolleybus nr.30) to the city center for less than 10 cents. Still not enough benches inside.
They started changing the decorations based on the season or holiday, they didn't do it before very much, wich is an improvement.
Watch out the so called duty free shop at the Chisinau airport. The price changes at the cash point. They charge you extra without informing. I'll never buy here anything again.
The good: small, new airport: from entrance to gate in less than 10min. Taxi to centre: 15min. No subway or train connection though.
The bad: even the official taxi stand in the airport rips you off. The charged me 50% more than the the official rate. 7,5 euro instead of 5 it's still cheap, but it just gives a bad first impression.
Furthermore: the gates have no walkways to the planes so everyone has to get on the sweaty buswait until the last infant and slow granny is on itdrive 4 meters to the plane that's standing next to the bus and get off again. Completely inefficient!
My flight was delayed due to bad weather conditions (snow). No info desk in waiting room, so I had to I go to sales desk in aeroport entrance. And guess what, they said it's not their fault so no refreshing drinks will be provided, just nothing! I am ok that weather couldn't be controlled by a human, but they could manage a comfortable waiting in aeroport area.
P.S.: another flight was delayed already by 10 hours and still counts. People sleeps on chairs.
Really disappointed
Cheap flights good flight connection options. Good restaurant inside
Border police somtimes follow you till into the toilet. Airport still on construction.
It's Soviet style old airport. Kinda nice to remember how it used to be free.
Small but nice airport. Airport staff should smile a little bit more
