Toubkal Trek 2 days - but very tiring. Family of 2 Adults, 2 Teenagers. Collected from accommodation in Marrakech, met by our guide (Hamid) in Imlil and then started walking around 1000; lunch at 1230 and arrived at Refuge du Toubkal at 1645. Dinner, bed and up at 0430. Walking 0500 (with head torches), summit at 0845. Back to Refuge for lunch at 1215, start back down at 1315 and Imlil for 1745. Return Marrakech 1900.
Guide was great, food (as cooked by Hassan) was awesome and filling. We stuck to bottled water - available at 12Dh for 1.5ltres at the side of the path and at the Refuge. We hired sleeping bags ahead of the trek (took liners) but not needed: Refuge was roasting (even though only 4C in the morning)- take ear plugs as snorers everywhere and 24 in the dormitory! Needed hat and gloves for final ascent - rivers frozen during the morning in August. Shorts and sun cream in the afternoon.
View from the top makes all the exertion worth it! Trek in Morocco was a reliable company and great communications ahead of the visit with Hamid. Fully recommended.
