As a longtime resident of Tangier, Morocco, I have known many people affiliated with this large private and prestigious school on a campus of over 10 acres. The former Headmaster Joe McPhillips was a friend who transformed the school and established a second American School of Marrakech before his untimely death.
The painter Marguerite McBey endowed the school with a large gymnasium and swimming pool in her last will, and donated her beach house to the school upon her death.
Classes are taught in English, but Arabic is also taught and I think the school has the reputation as being one of the best private schools in Tangier. Several years ago, part of the large property were used to construct several new buildings for the use of the University of New England, based in Maine, so there are now many additional American students who spend time in Tangier to pursue their studies.response / report this review -
