We booked tours through S'Tours via Gulliver's/Kuoni. Being in the tourism industry, this was my private familiarisation tour of Morocco. We booked a private day tour in both Fes and Marrakech.

Fes. Our guide, Hamid el Moutaki, arrived half an hour late which was not a good start, saying he went to the wrong Riad. Being a Saturday a few of the places of interest were closed sadly. At one of our stops, he left us inside for longer than we wanted and the guy at the door told us to wait as he was coming. He was continually on his mobile and told us this was a half day tour but our voucher clearly stated a full day. Yes we did see most of the sights but were rushed past them in spite of advising that we were all interested in the culture, history and architecture and not shopping. We were taken to all his friends, hoping that we would make a purchase. We were given no alternative as a restaurant but were taken back to a friend's restaurant for lunch. We missed out on many sights and never saw the New City until the guide we arranged at short notice through Plan-it Fes took us there the next day. Definitely not to be recommended

Marrakech: In fear, we embarked on our day tour of Marrakech and what a relief to meet our lovely older guide, who arrived early and took us on a wonderful day's excursion to see every sight that Riad Zayane had suggested and more. Lunch was in the square at a café frequented by locals where we could choose from a varied menu and survey the passing scenes. In the Souk everything of interest was shown to us and he left if up to us if we wanted to purchase anything of not. We did not feel pressurised into buying which was wonderful. He dropped us back out our Riad's door in the evening exhausted after a really wonderful FULL day tour. Unfortunately our guide had run out of business cards however I would like to recommend him to any future travellers being a travel agent.
