This cafe has very slow service from its daytime waiter. If you sit outside on the Boulevard Pasteur you will find it nearly impossible to carry on a conversation because of the constant traffic noises (honking horns and ambulances).
I used to sit outside at the Metropole several times a week to rendezvous with a friend but the last time I waited over 20 minutes for the waiter to emerge, which is inexcusable.
I seldom go to the Cafe Metropole anymore because of the poor service and very slow or non-working WiFi service.
Inside it is quieter and there are two televisions that show news programs and football games to its customers.
Cafe Metropole is one of the half dozen cafes in Tangier that is open during the daytime hours during Ramadan for tourists and non-Moslems, who sit inside during the month-long religious festival.
On my final visit during Ramadan in 2017, I sat inside, waiting and waiting and waiting for the waiter to emerge from a back room. I was eventually served something that was supposed to be coffee (perhaps day-old or recycled from looking at it. Indeed, it was so horrible I only took one half-sip and after this I vowed never again to return to the Cafe Metropole.response / report this review -
