Several friends with cars and drivers have shopped periodically at the Sabrine Supermarket which is one of the first and best supermarkets in the city.

I have been to the Sabrine in the past, some years ago, when it was located directly across the street on Avenue Mohamed V, but it is very far from my house.

Now that there are other excellent large supermarkets in Tangier such as Acima, Carrefour, Marjane, Oasis and Jenin, I never go to the Sabrine anymore. But I am told it is still an excellent market and has good meats, fresh vegetables and some imported items.

Recently I decided to take a long walk to Malabata and passed the Sabrine. Then I walked inside carrying a small bag containing an expensive iPad and my portable telephone and some important papers.

Suddenly a man appeared and told me that I must check my small bag into a locker near the entrance. At that point, I decided not to shop at the Sabrine because I resent being considered a shoplifter, and I continued my walk. What a shame, since I really wanted to see this supermarket again. It has a good reputation as one of the best older supermarkets in Tangier.

I might add that when I go to the Acima or Carrefour, I do not have to check in my bag. At the Marjane they have lockers for bags and you put a 5 Dirham coin in, and the coin is returned when you use the key and collect your bag to leave.

Very good supermarket
The staff is particularly nice.
Lebanese food products are available here:
Bourgol, Tahini, Zaatar, Etc at good prices

El súper que más me gusta de tánger, Los empleados son muy amables. Productos de excelente calidad: quesos, embutidos, aceitunas, carnes de todo. Es el súper de mi barrio.
