Beautiful riad in old well maintained traditional building. Friendly staff, huge breakfast, hot water always available and good WiFi. Hard to find as everything in Fez medina. Arrange for staff to pick you up from nearby Place Ercif ( that's we're taxi or bus from the airport will drop you).They kindly came to pick as up from taxi at 1am ! :)

l endroit est vraiment la cour des miracles , impossible de trouver seul le riad , un des responsables me donne deux numéros de téléphone soit disant disponibles 24h24 , j appelle le soir pour me guider ,,, personne je tombe sur deux jeunes qui me montrent le chemin , et au passage essayent de me voler mon sac , arrives sur place ils me demandent des billets de banque pas de pièces , vient m ouvrir le responsable complétement bourre, la chambre pue l égout je suis seul au riad , je sais pourquoi , j ai réservé une semaine je suis reste une seule nuit j ' ai réservé dans un hôtel ensuite , évidemment fuyez ce riad !! je ne comprends pas qu il soit propose par booking . com ils devraient contrôler les endroits qu ils proposent , quand aux 4 étoiles c est surement des copains qui ont rédigé des faux avis !! ma note zero

The place is very hard to find, so make sure you call them in advance and ask them to wait for you at Place R'cif.
When we arrived there had been overbooking so they offered us a room at Mikou and another room nearby at a local host (we were 4). The first room was near the common living room, so little privacy, so we chose to go to the other place the four of us.
However, the owner and the employee who attended us were super nice and helpful.response / report this review -

Lugar muy tranquilo, limpio y buen precio sin necesidad de regatear. Sin duda, lo mejor el trato recibido por el personal. El dueño es un hombre encantador.
Eso sí, es prácticamente imposible de encontrar sin ayuda. Nos llevaron a buscar un lugar donde cenar y nos esperaron para guiarnos de vuelta al riad.response / report this review -

We found this riad randomly once we left our other terrible one. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the owner who offered to show us the room and then offered us mint tea. He told us about the family history and the birth of the riad to save the family home and when you stay in Riad Mikou that's what you get, a nice homely feeling. All the staff are family and make you feel like you're a part of theirs. Their English is good enough that they can help you with lots of info including good places to eat and how not to be ripped off in the markets and tanneries.
The rooms are clean and good value for money. Our room had a lock which was great so we felt secure.
The riad has a few small drawbacks - it is very hard to find but the staff took us to the blue gate whenever we wanted and the teenage staff member would often guide us through the streets. Our room was a little cold in the night (early March) but the room had an electric heater which warmed it up.
Out of all the riads and hostels we have stayed at so far in Morocco, Riad Mikou was the best one. If we ever go back to Fes, we would stay there without question.response / report this review -
