Went to Comptoir Darna following reccomendations from a couple of friends and locals. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully. The menu is varied but all three dishes we ordered were smothered in coriander to the point that that's all you could taste. Service was excellent. Drinks were overpriced. The show was only on every hour, considering the size of the place this wasn't regular enough.
For the first show, children were allowed run out amongst the belly dancers pulling from them and essentially ruined the show. For the second show an hour later, they spent the first 20 minutes on the other side of the restaurant making it impossible to see until they moved to our side.
All in all a disappointing evening with less than average food and show. Maybe my standards are too high but I would only come here if you want to be part of a tourist trap. Giving 2 stars for staff and decor.
I really enjoyed my lamb tajine. I do feel that it should have been served with a salad or rice, or something. My daughter and I really enjoyed the show and the staff was great. I would go again.
FOOD POISONING / SALMONELLA - tasteless dishes but great atmosphere and good music. We had a nice evening but were very disappointed by the quality of the food. It was very greasy and we could barely see what we were eating. Dishes were very small too. I woke up hours later throwing up all my dinner and had the chills throughout my entire body. I kept throwing up for hours on until my stomach had rejected all the food we ate at Comptoir Darna. It ruined part of my dreamy vacation and will remain the worst memory of a fabulous trip in Marrakech. Our hotel and driver told us Darna was a party scene and definitely not the place to eat because apparently I was not the first client sick with their food. DO NOT EAT THERE. It is also a smoking place which is awful because we had an entire table of 20 year old men smoking next to us the whole time.
Good meal and good atmosphere. Definitely the place to go if you want some fun as it was packed with music playing and a belly dancing show mid-way through our meal. A place to be seen at so one to dress up for as while being casual rather than formal, everyone there had made a significant effort! The portions were huge too but they let you take away any left overs too. Fun place.
Fantastic experience. Wonderful food. Service was great. Host moved us to a livelier spot upon our request. Musicians and dancers made for an entertaining evening. Host found us a table in the upstairs club area (after our meal) even whilst fully booked. Trendy and chic restaurant in the new town.
Great food.very promt service. Excellent entertainment. At little pricey however well worth it.
Extremely expensive, there for was just ok. Service is great and live entertainment is pretty good, but you've seen it all after 5 minutes. I had 3x the food for 1/2 the cost at a very fancy restaurant in casablanca
very nice I been there with my friends we all enjoy belly dance and traditional music with sesha strawberry flavour
Great food, ambience & music. Even though they were so busy their service is very good. There was belly dancing, drummers, saxophone players and many more. We went on a Monday night and it was amazing
Amazing place to spend the evening. Everything is great from service to food. If you want to relax, there is a nice terrace to enjoy drinks and shisha
Wow. From start to finish this was a step above anything else we experienced in Marrakech. Be wary of the smart dress door policy (no flip flops for men) but be prepared to be amazed by the tasty modern Asian fusion menu and the very classically Moroccan entertainment. Exceptional.
Great food with both Moroccan and international dishes. Very good service despite the place being absolutely packed. Show was very fun! Great place for groups. Super trendy.
Very trendy and lively atmosphere of young professional locals and travelers. We went for dinner and the belly dancing show, which was quite impressive with some women dancing with lit candles on their heads. Food was a mix of Moroccan and international, gourmet (small portions). Plates and appetizers were over 180 dirhams, but incredibly well done and delicious.
Nice ambience in the heart of the new town. Pretty much what you'll see in any expensive city. Nice food a nice feel to the place with patio and club on site
Amazing food and space. The show is nice.
nice place but nothing special. Went here for dinner because they had a show. A little bit of belly dancing but nothing more. The food was good but nothing special for the price.
Horrible experience. We were waiting for a table for more than 1 1/2 hr. They were seating people that arrived after us. All the process looks very disorganize. I am not rating this place with zero stars because is not possible.
Really nice and cosy place. The music is a mix of western and oriental. Lots of Entertainment and staff very friendly! Must visit if in Marrakech.
