Awesome
cosy rooms, nice staff, roof top and delicious breakfast
Terrible service. Rude owner, stayed there for 3 weeks as I was studying and periodically I would literally get yelled at for no reason (once I got a very rude yelling bc I left one of my lights on in the riad room). On my last week instructed me to change my room on 5 minute notice, lied to me and said they'd told me on the 10th of the month (that day was the 10th, he just made up a date literally), told me if I didn't hear it it was my fault and I didn't want to listen. Then when I said I needed to go to class and couldn't do it on that short notice and would do it when I come back, (even though I should have refused to do it at all) he told me I wasn't trying to help them (that's not my responsibility), and when I replied saying I gave them business so I did help them, he said "that's your problem," and then told me to "calm down" multiple times (In a very sexist manner).
Anyways, don't waste your money here. They demand money up front whereas most other Riads (I've stayed in many diff ones throughout diff cities in morocco) don't take your money until the end. Also, tea should be free but this place charges 10 Dirham/1 euro per cup. When advertising the riad to me, they said I can get breakfast on the roof if I want, then one day I asked for breakfast on the roof because the weather was nice and they refused and said if they do it for me they'll have to do it for others. I never argued with them, always paid upon request, and gave them good business and was nice to them despite their rudeness. I was shocked at the end of my stay when they acted like that. I asked a few of my Moroccan friends about this and they confirmed that this service wasn't the norm and pretty bad for any standards.
There's many more reasons why this is a horrible choice and I might post soon on trip advisor with details. If you want to stay in the beautiful old Medina, choose a better Riad with better service.
